About this deal

Three low-income families have been given a handsome retainer to join Geraldine Borden for a day at her cliffside estate. All the parents must do to collect the rest of their money is allow their children to test out the revolutionary playground equipment Geraldine has been working on for decades. But there’s a reason the structures in the bowels of her gothic castle have taken so long to develop—they were never meant to see the light of day. The horror is in the unfiltered realism. It tightens your chest and slays your mind. It will chill you to the bone. With Playground, Aron Beauregard transcends himself, delivering a genuinely chilling, uncomfortable novel that will make even the most jaded horror fan squirm. A harrowing, relentless read that left me breathless." (Brian Keene) I saw many influences in the first installment of the Morbid Curiosities collection: Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, The Twilight Zone, Supernatural, and Guy DeMaupassant's short story "Was It a Dream?" When a band of dysfunctional children is suddenly thrust into a diabolical realm of violence, they must grow up instantly to have a chance at survival. Will they find a way to put their differences aside, or be swallowed up by the insidious architecture all around them?

I’ve read and loved quite a bit of Aron’s work, and this series has made it clear that he just keeps getting better and better with each new release. This was awesome. My two favorite Horror Authors that are currently active are Kristopher Triana and Aron Beauregard. I usually love Kristopher's work because of how dark it is. Beautiful prose and just stark darkness. Aron's work I usually love because most of his output at this point is so comicly over the top with how gruesome the pictures that he paints are and how many taboos he chooses to break. This book is an essential read, not just for horror fans but for book readers in general. Mark my words, this book is going to shoot Aron into the stratosphere more than he already is. Aron Beauregard presents a story about one of the great dangers our youth face on the internet, the destruction it leaves behind, and the evil behind it. And he does it without pulling punches. He does not spare your feelings. This is the story of an internet challenge that preys on the sad and uncertain, perpetrated by the worst of humanity. It’s also about what draws young people to such things. It’s about those people, those kids, their families, their struggles. It’s about the descent into madness from pain and grief. And it’s graphic. And it’s bloody. These days, people can say and do just about anything, because they have the ‘right’? Bullshit! We are doing more harm than good. If a kid calls an adult an asshole because they couldn’t get their way, they need to be taught how the world really works. I’m not saying beat them to death (almost certainly not), but if they are not held accountable, they will only get worse. What will demotivate them?Of course, there is also plenty of that Beauregard brutality we all know and love, and some awesome, eye opening illustrations! This one will stay with me for a very long time! When a band of dysfunctional children is suddenly thrust into a diabolical realm of violence, they must grow up instantly to have a chance at survival. Will they find a way to put their differences aside, or be swallowed up by the insidious architecture all around them?” It brings to life the true horrors out there in life, of a world reliant on social networking and the need for acceptance! And also, the horrifying reality of what people will do if they aren't accepted! The ease of young people being brainwashed by an unknown person on the other end of a computer! Terrifying, and utterly chilling! Aron just keeps improving with every book he releases, and this is no exception! You always know when you're reading a book by Aron, it just has that Aron feel to it! In the same way you know when you're reading a Stephen King! It's like coming home, a comfort! And the most surprising thing I learned was that there are actually no laws that protect people to this kind of online abuse. Even if they find the person responsible for one of these ‘challenges’ where people lose their life, they can’t be held directly responsible because…

There is a fantastic twist in this story, and when the tables are turned, it makes for a gnarly, yet very satisfying conclusion! Take a ride with Franco, a professional photographer, on his journey with the secrets he holds, especially from his partner Sophia. She has no idea of what the man she is with has hiding in his closet.... As updates come, I’ll be sure to keep everyone in the loop. Incredibly excited about this and I hope you all are as well. Thanks a million for your support, I appreciate all of you and this stuff wouldn’t be possible without all of you.A mysterious internet figure, known only as Mr. Boy, is preying on depressed teenagers and brainwashing them into horrific acts of self-harm and suicide. The macabre message behind "The Dropout Challenge" is simple: Drop out of sight. Drop out of school. Drop out of society. Drop out of life altogether.

Wow, this book is a game changer for Aron Beauregard. I feel like it’s equally as important as his seminal release The Slob, if not a tad bit more so simply for the fact that it has had more “mainstream” success and appeal.World-renowned chef, Kason Anders, has a secret compulsion. Divulging in his obsession has brought him to the darkest corners of the globe. But redundancy can make even the most extraordinary experiences grow old. However, if the rumors prompting his return to Singapore are true, Kason's taste buds will never be bored again. Aron has done it again! My fiance Spike and I were gifted this copy of Morbid Curiosities at Authorcon II, so I decided it needed to be moved to the top of the TBR pile! (Not yet released, but coming soon I believe...) Aron Beauregard brings you another tale of depravity and gore that pushes the boundaries – as we’ve come to expect.

I’m excited to announce that addition to my 3 books, they are releasing an 8 chapbook series by Brian Keene, and a 3 chapbook series from my good friend Daniel J. Volpe. I believe they will be announcing some other names as well, but the overall quality and awesomeness of this project is going to be a real treat for readers. Are we really heading in the right direction or are we producing the kind of humans that will be the downfall of humanity? I guess only time will tell. Like I said – the world is turning into a place I don’t understand. As a parent, it is scary to think that my child might someday be susceptible to this, and even scarier to think of the things I can’t even imagine that will come across his path. As a lover of things that are morbid, bizarre, or horrifying, I found it nearly impossible to put this book down before I'd read it from cover to cover in 2 short work nights.A mysterious internet figure, known only as Mr. Boy, is preying on depressed teenagers and brainwashing them into horrific acts of self-harm and suicide. The macabre message behind ‘The Dropout Challenge’ is simple: Dropout of sight. Dropout of school. Dropout of society. Dropout of life altogether. Francisco Booth is a photographer that is given an antique picture frame, as a gift from his girlfriend Sophia to put a photo of them as a couple inside of it. Every time he looks at the frame, the picture changes. As we get to know Fransisco better, we learn he has some secrets, some morbid secrets. Is the frame trying to tell him something, is he going crazy, or is he entering another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination?
