Beginning of Turn phase: If any cards in your Field have an effect that states, "If this card is in your Field at the beginning of your turn", they are triggered now. The Alpaca Herd Bonus will protect that player's Alpacas from all DESTROY effects, including the Ram Herd Bonus. However, any other Animals in that player's Field (that are not Alpacas) are still vulnerable to DESTROY effects.Magical Animal Card – Go into a field like a standard animal card and contribute to the number of animal cards, but allow the player to take additional action. If an Instant card is played in response to a card you played, you may respond with an Instant card of your own (even though you already played a card this turn). Any number of Instant cards can be chained during a single turn. There’s further strategy when you start to see how collecting three of the same kind of animal gives a “herd bonus” giving additional power to your cards and letting you nudge closer to victory – that is, unless someone else has got something lined up to bring it all crashing down around you. Still, you won’t know until those rams start doing their stuff… We believe Llamas Unleashed is a more intense game, and it is up to you if that means better or not. Can Children Younger than 14 Play Llamas Unleashed?The mechanics of Llamas Unleashed are near-identical to Unstable Unicorns, but with a few twists. Since there are four different types of animals, some cards only affect one type of card. So “Goatmeal Raisin Cookie” will only affect your goat cards. If you move to your Draw phase without triggering an optional triggered effect, you can no longer trigger that effect this turn. If you have a card in your hand that requires you to perform an impossible action, you may not play it. Sometimes, however, the effect of a card in your Field or a card played by any other player may require you to perform an impossible action. If this situation occurs, disregard that action. Some impossible actions include:

Magic cards have one-time effects. When you play a Magic card, it immediately takes effect and is then discarded. Just like in Unstable Unicorns, your opponents will be trying to sabotage your progress. If your monsters aren’t strong enough when your opponents interrupt the babies’ nap, you can wave bye-bye to the monsters you’ve worked so hard to build. Chomp! These babies can finally eat solid food — namely your monsters. Eat them before they can eat you. Downgrade Card – Can go into any player’s Field, and additional action will be taken based on their description.

Components

As the turns go, you try to place animals into your field. But on top of Basic Animal cards, there are also Magic Cards, Upgrades, Downgrades and Instant Cards. They each have a unique ability from the Velcro Barrier that stops people stealing Llamas and Alpacas from your field to Berserk Llama Syndrome which forces other players to sacrifice their own animals. You give yourself upgrades, others downgrades and hope that no one has Embrace Diversity which lets them win with two fewer animals in their field.
