About this deal

If you have carbon rims on a bike with rim brakes, you also need to be careful not to drag your brakes on long descents because overheating can cause latex tubes to fail. Some wheel makers recommend against using latex tubes with their rims. Contrary to most assumptions, the letter C is not a symbol of a tire’s third generation, and neither does it represent centimeters. REPLACEMENT ROAD BIKE INNER TUBES - These inner tubes are universal replacements for 700c (622) road bikes with 28-inch tires that have widths between 20mm to 25mm. High-quality and durable, these inner tubes are must-haves for all road bike owners. For even more weight saving, latex tubes are significantly lighter than butyl tubes, plus there’s less friction against the tyre, resulting in lower rolling resistance. You must make sure you replace your inner tubes with a tube that is the right size according to the diameter and width for your tyre. The size is almost always written somewhere on the sidewall of the tyre. Inner tubes typically state a wheel diameter and width range for which they will work, e.g. 26 x 1.95-2.125", indicating that the tube is intended to fit a 26 inch tyre with a width of between 1.95 inches and 2.125 inches.

Valve extenders screw onto the top of the Presta valve. Some are just hollow tubes, others include a valve at the top, which means that you need to remove the valve core from your inner tube before screwing on the extender. The letter c is the width code of the bicycle tire (in this case, width means what you’d see by looking at the bike from either directly in front or behind). The “c” bit is (these days) fairly obsolete, but was part of the old French classification system that designated widths of bike tires from the narrowest, known as “a”, to the widest, known as “d”. Which meant that a “c” tire was nearly the maximum width for these tires. Determining your tire width is normally a very simple process on modern bikes. Squat down next to your bike so that you can see the tire sidewall – this is the rubber strip that goes in a circle adjacent to the metal wheel rim. Look along this strip and you’ll likely see a number of different pieces of information printed or embossed into the rubber. This will probably include a series of numbers that starts with either “700 x …” or “700c x …”. The number that appears after this multiplication sign is your tire width in millimeters and should be between 22 and 50. The Continental Bicycle Tubes Race 28 tubes are another fantastic choice for 28-inch bike tires with a 20-25mm width. Bike repairs can be confusing, but do you know what can be even more confusing? READ THIS NEXT The 2 main types of bike tire valves and how they work Recommended inner tubes for 700c wheels They, however, come in different widths, with most of them ranging between 18mm and 38mm. 2. What Does The C Mean In 700x23c?

As a general rule, online marketplaces are good places to look for discounts. There are a lot of places to buy 700x23c inner tube. However, due of their broad dealer and supplier networks and well-managed supply chains, online marketplaces can sometimes provide cheaper pricing than their physical counterparts.Note, however, that both 700x23c and 700×23 tires nowadays refer to the same wheel size. 3. What Is The Difference Between 700×23 And 700x23c? About inner tube inflation】 Please note that the ductility of the new inner tube is not fully in place when it is first inflated. When you first inflate the inner tube, please do not fill up the gas at once. It is about 80% of the gas. Fill it up properly after a month or so. This is beneficial The bicycle inner tube is better used, and the service life is enhanced. Tyre Width: To add to the variety, you also have different tyre widths. There are wide road tyres and narrow road tyres, wide downhill mountain bike tyres and narrow cross-country mountain bike tyres. Get the wrong size, and you could have too much tube to fit inside the tyre, or too small an inner tube to fill it out.

As well as coming in pretty colours, latex inner tubes offer lower weight and rolling resistance than butyl inner tubes. They’re relatively expensive though and heat build-up can cause issues if you’re using rim brakes on long descents. Simon Bromley/Immediate Media This handmade rubber tire is superior in all aspects. For starters, it’s Vectran-reinforced to guarantee abrasion-resistant and puncture protection. Given that these tubes come labeled 700×18-25c, 700×20-25c, and so on, you can choose anything that includes a 23c (or 23mm width). Starting with the outer surface, consider hard shells and other tough materials that offer puncture protection. Also, consider the sidewalls, which should also feature puncture-proof casing. And despite all that, it feels lightweight. So, you won’t stress over your two-wheel becoming unnecessarily heavier. The width difference slightly reduces the rolling resistance of 700x25c tires in comparison to 700x23c tires. 6. Which Is Better – 23c Or 25c? Inner tubes are normally made of butyl rubber or Latex, they sit inside your tyre and are inflated with a pump, they sometimes puncture but are easily replaced. Inner tubes are simple but essential – unless you’re riding with tubeless tyres, you’ll always need an inner tube. Carrying spares is always a good idea, even if you are running tubeless, as a large slash or hole will not seal easily. Presta valves, pictured left in the image below, are narrower and longer. Schrader valves, pictured right in the image below, are shorter and fatter (found on car and wheelbarrow tubes). So, provided there is a 23c somewhere, and the tire diameter is 700mm, then the tire will fit if what you want is a 700X23c.
