About this deal

These creatures roam the vast tracts of Fenris' only stable continent, Asaheim, the inhospitable tundras and hinterlands that surround the foot of the mountains of Fangard upon whose peaks stands the Space Wolves' vast fortress-monastery, The Fang. Axe Head – Base with Stormhost Silver, glaze with thinned Calth Blue (This used to be Guilliman Blue, but GW Don’t make it anymore), stipple White Scar as frosting and edge highlight with White Scar. Imperial Guard: Imperial Guard armies are known for their vast numbers of troops, tanks, and heavy machinery. Fenrisian Grey – Air Paint is a great choice for painting the Imperial Guard’s tanks and heavy machinery, as it creates a realistic, battle-worn look. This paint can also be used to paint the fatigues and uniforms of the Imperial Guard soldiers, which are often depicted in shades of grey. Dark Eldar: The Dark Eldar are an army of sadistic, raiding aliens that have a dark, sinister look. Fenrisian Grey can be used to paint the armor of their soldiers, giving them a sleek and menacing look. It can also be used to paint their weapons, vehicles, and buildings, giving them a sense of balance and harmony.

Next I waited for that to dry, and then masked out the stripes with masking tape. I masked out and painted the entire color area first in Ulthuan Grey, varnishing and waiting for it to dry, before I masked off everything but the blue areas, and airbrushed them VMC Ultramarine Blue. Boots/Pouches: I started with Rhinox Hide, then caught these in the same wash of Agrax Earthshade as the pants. I then highlighted with Doombull Brown.White Armor: Like the rank and file Valhallans, I painted these whole models in Steel Legion Drab first. The armor was based with Ulthuan Grey (my secret weapon, holy shit this color is so useful) and down in two coats. I washed the recesses with Agrax Earthshade, then highlighted up with Corax White. Mechanicus Standard Grey (a whole nother coat because it is actually quite different from the spray) Drybrush the dirt with Steel Legion Drab followed by a lighter drybrush of Gorthor Brown (optional: do a final light drybrush of Ushabti Bone) Stowage: I painted this the same as the Valhallan pants. Steel Legion Drab, Tallarn Sand, Agrax Earthshade wash. Leather straps the same as the boots and straps on the infantry – Rhinox Hide, Agrax Earthshade, and Doombull Brown.

The paint comparison chart is an excellent guide for doing this. You can see many color options and how they will look in the different types of lighting available to you while still having time to carefully weigh your decision before committing to anything. Mephiston Red– Air Paint: This rich, deep red is a great choice for adding contrast and drama to the cool tones of Fenrisian Grey. It can be used to create a striking highlight on armor and weapons. I first airbrushed the tank solid VMC Khaki, the same color as the fatigues of my guardsmen. I then varnished over it.

Trichromacy

Don’t worry if you make any mistakes. Just let it dry and tidy up with Russ Grey. Step 7 – Apply Edge Highlights Highlight the eyes and wrist screens with Warpstone Glow (Optional: Add a final highlight of Moot Green). The sanctioned psykers are fun models. A few touches of brass and my officer color makes them stand out on the battlefield. Pants/Hats/Cuffs: From the Steel Legion Drab basecoat, I highlighted the raised edges with Tallarn Sand and washed these with Agrax Earthshade.
