About this deal

The Delonghi Caffe Corso ESAM2800 is at the lower end of the price spectrum for bean-to-cup coffee machines– yet still aims to provide top-quality espresso. It features a two spout design, steam pipe for milk frothing and a several options for coffee customisation. The manual milk arm is placed just to the right of the coffee dispenser, and it rotates out to the side so that you can get your preferred angle to froth the milk easily. For the brilliant results at this sort of price range, I don’t think the Caffe Corso can be beaten. If you are considering purchasing your first machine, you will have to go a long way to find something better than this. A top buy!

Once that is sorted, you add your coffee beans to the compartment on the top of the machine. You don’t need to worry too much about how many beans to add, because the machine will only grind the amount that you have set on the dial at the front. I would try not to add too much more than required though – the beans will keep fresher in an airtight container than they will in the machine, waiting to be used. A warning light will come on if you are running low. You wont be able to appreciate how useful this is, until you’ve tried filling up a machine that has a rear, non removable tank, using only a jug. Especially first thing in the morning, when all you want is a coffee. A handy feature is that the grind pot is located in the drip tray. As this is the part of the machine you’ll be cleaning most often, this configuration saves some time. Empty the container used to collect the descaler solution and replace it empty under the cappuccino maker. For me I would recommend the De Longhi Esam4200 over the 2800. To me it is just a better looking and feeling coffee machine, albeit only slightly.Press and hold the descale button until either the cup lights go out or start flashing along with the steam light. If your machine has an electronic display select the descale option. Like all bean-to-cup coffee makers, it’s loud – especially when grinding the coffee. Even so, we think the ESAM2800 is particularly loud even for a bean-to-cup. This might be something to keep in mind if you plan on using it at night. First of all, make sure the water tank (on the side of the machine), has plenty of water in it. As with everything else, the fresher the water the better, but there is plenty of room in the tank, so that you don’t need to worry about filling it up very often. Operating at an AC input voltage of 220-240 V and powered by 1450 W, the DeLonghi Caffe Corso ESAM 2800.SB is capable of efficiently brewing coffee. It also features an auto power off function, ensuring energy conservation and safety. We think the De’longhi Caffe Corso ESAM2800 provides excellent value for money. It’s considerably cheaper than many other bean-to-cup coffee machines, but still produces outstanding coffee from both beans and ground coffee.

Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to adjust the temperature of the water. You can change the temperature of the steam output though. Espresso Taste If you are not experienced in dismantling and reassembling electrical appliances, we recommend you take your Delonghi to a specialized technical service. And, of course, if it is a relatively new machine and you still have it under warranty, don’t think about it: ask for a new one. You can also open the front of the machine and completely remove the brewing unit for more thorough cleaning. It’s great that Delonghi have put thought into making fiddly places to clean more accessible, as this makes the ESAM2800.SB easier to maintain. Now that you know a little bit more about the product, let’s take a few minutes to go over some of the special features that really set the Caffe Corso apart from the other competition on the market. Easy To Clean Particularly if you live in an area where the kettle fuzzes up regularly with limescale build up, you’re going to need to stay on top of things with this Caffe Corso. If that’s a concern for you, maybe look at another machine with more advanced built in cleaning functions like the ECAM44.660.B in this Eletta review.Naturally, different people like their coffee at different strengths, and the ESAM2800 has you covered. There are two dials at the centre of the control panel, the first to set the length of the coffee (how big your drink is in layman’s terms!) and the second selects the strength.

The main one is the manual approach to milk texturing, if you drink a lot of milk based drinks and want this done automatically then you need to steer clear of this machine. If you notice flashing lights on your Delonghi coffee machine, it’s essential to understand their specific meanings, although interpretations may vary depending on your model. Delonghi machines use flashing lights for different purposes, and knowing what each signifies can help you troubleshoot effectively. Open the steam valve fully. The machine will start descaling. This process will pause and restart over a period of 20 to 30 minutes. With a water tank of 1.8l, you don’t need to worry about filling this machine up very often, unless you just want to freshen it up. You can make around 60 espressos with that much water, which is more than large enough for domestic use. It has a 15 bar pressure pump, which is pretty standard for a machine like this and this is perfectly adequate. Inspect grinder and grinding settings: In super-automatic machines with integrated grinders, the grinder’s condition and settings can impact coffee output. Make sure the grinder is functioning correctly and set to an appropriate fineness level for your desired coffee strength.
