About this deal

Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right, and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.’ Cedric's death is a major plot point in the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, in which Harry and Ginny Weasley's son Albus uses a Time-Turner and prevents Cedric's death. Due to his humiliation in the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric eventually becomes a Death Eater and kills Neville Longbottom. Due to Neville's death, the final Horcrux Nagini was never destroyed, and as a result Voldemort is never defeated, kills Harry and takes over the Wizarding World. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] Production This wand was primarily used during the Triwizard Tournament. It particularly helped Cedric in the 3rd Task, where there were a number of creatures inside a large maze. Cedric's success in the maze leads to his death and the re-mastery of his wand. Before the first task, it was tested by Ollivander and was in perfect condition. According to Cedric, the wand is treated regularly. Within the UK and USA the price you see is the price you pay - you won't be charged any extra fees.

These are the top ten wand woods from those who have discovered their wands through WizardingWorld.com (and previously on Pottermore). If your wand wood doesn’t make it on to this list don’t worry – you can read all about the types of wood in full here. Cedric was portrayed by Robert Pattinson in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Joe Livermore portrayed Cedric in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry, illegitimately chosen to represent Hogwarts way before he was ready, found himself unfairly compared to the much more accomplished Cedric – who was Hufflepuff’s Quidditch team captain, a prefect and a more experienced wizard. For an awkward teenage boy still finding his feet, going up against the likes of Cedric Diggory would be an absolute nightmare. Cedric once borrowed Quidditch Through the Ages from the Hogwarts Library, and was due to return the book on 3 July.It was a twist of extremely cruel fate that for befriending Harry rather than going against him, Cedric lost his life. Even worse, it was through a combination of Cedric’s nobility and Harry’s fairness that led the pair to the trap where he died. On 24 June, Cedric was joined by his parents, who had been invited to watch the Third Task. During the meeting, his father confronted Harry over the coverage he had been receiving in the press at the expense of his son. Cedric tried to calm him down and explain that it was not Harry's fault, then apologised to Harry. [2] In the film, the wand appears with a light colour, is curved at the handle and the tip, and does not have a separate handle. At the end of the handle is a roughly carved face that resembles a bird.

A sensitive wand, hazel often reflects its owner’s emotional state and works best for a master who understands and can manage their own feelings. Harry Potter: " Cedric, the first task is Dragons." Cedric Diggory: " What?" Harry Potter: " Dragons. They've got four, one for each of us, and we've got to get past them." Cedric Diggory: " Are you sure?" Harry Potter: " Dead sure. I've seen them." Cedric Diggory: " But how did you find out? We're not supposed to know..." — Harry informing Cedric about the first task [src] The great medieval wandmaker, Geraint Ollivander, wrote that he was always honoured to match a cypress wand, for he knew he was meeting a witch or wizard who would die a heroic death. The name Cedric was unintentionally created by Sir Walter Scott in his Ivanhoe character Cedric the Saxon when he misspelt the name Cerdic. Cerdic was a sixth-century Saxon leader and the first king of Wessex. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, we discover that Cedric’s wand has a unicorn hair core. Pottermore describes wands with unicorn hairs as faithful and “difficult to turn to the Dark Arts.” Similarly, the King of Cups is a diplomat who would rather talk than fight, and make allies rather than enemies. Cedric’s conduct at Hogwarts, even as a competitive Quidditch player and Triwizard Champion, shows honor and kindness even to his opposition. This is the type of righteousness and purity that compels a unicorn hair wand to choose a wizard.Note: at the end of 2021 Universal discontinued the sale of standard wizarding wands. Types of Interactive Harry Potter Wands When Harry is cleaning out his school trunk in 1997, he finds a 'Support Cedric Diggory!' badge in there. Considering the badges were only created by Draco Malfoy to get a rise out of Harry in 1994, it seems out of place that Harry has it, although he may have it by accident, or out of respect for Cedric. He could also have kept one as a memento from the Tournament. Cedric was said to be an embodiment of the qualities of Hufflepuff House. He had a sense of fair play: during the 1993 Gryffindor/Hufflepuff match, despite his capture of the Golden Snitch (which ensured his team's victory), Cedric immediately offered to replay the match once he found out that his opponent, Harry Potter, had fallen from his broom due to the influence of the Dementors. [6] Cedric Diggory is not nearly as kind-hearted or selfless in the film adaptation. Harry Potter isn’t seen saving him from Viktor Krum, and they don’t both struggle against the giant spiders. Instead, Cedric Diggory continually pushes Harry Potter as he runs toward the Goblet of Fire, showing very poor sportsmanship. He isn’t the only character who is portrayed differently. Harry Potter is equally kind and selfless in these scenes, but even he is seen trying to pull Cedric Diggory’s shirt so that he can yank Cedric behind him and achieve a victory for elbowing Cedric out of the way as they run down the path toward the Goblet. Cedric was portrayed by Robert Pattinson in the film adaptation of Goblet of Fire and was briefly portrayed by Joe Livermore in Prisoner of Azkaban. [2] His voice is acted by Blake Ritson in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire video game. [3] Fictional character biography
