RECOMMENDATION: 212 VIP Men falls in the category of clubbing fragrances; this one offers a good scent and good performance for a reasonable price. Its performance could be better. This is a nice-to-have. SEASONS: Winter, spring, fall, colder days, daytime, nighttime, and climate-controlled environments. It is not a perfume I would always use, I do not have a good relation with some fruits, kkkkkkk, mainly kiwi and strawberry, what you can feel during the course of the perfume.

This was one of my signature scents in the past. After a few years and several bottles my nose changed and I started to feel something really synthetic that I couldn't really smell before... but I don't hate it. It's still a great scent and it brings me many good memories. Still, it's a very pleasant scent, the passionfruit note is quite noticeable and despite of the spirit drink vibe, don't let the vodka or the gin notes fool you, because the drydown gets minty ambery sweet, but not oversweet, therefore it won't offend anyone.I get pepper even though it’s not listed in the notes, but i seen a lot of people smelling this note too. VIP is a luxurious fragrance by Carolina Herrera and a perennial favourite. It has been turning heads since 2010. Alberto Morillas is the designer behind this evocative creation. This persisting parfum lasts all day long with just a few dabs since the proportion of essences is very high. Most eau de parfums have between 15-20%. Oriental-scents, such as this one, are indulgent and warm, blending aromas such as vanilla, musk and spice together and commonly featuring an amber accord. Ideal for Twilight-Hour Released in 2011, many think that it came in response to the success of 212 Men (now renamed to 212 Men NYC). Obviously, one thing is linked to another, but it was created to make a pair with the female version, released 1 year earlier. The concept, as well as the slogans, remained the same: "Are you on the list?" and "This is a private party.", which reflects the style and attitude of its users. Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Men EDT opens with a moderate projection of sweet, citrus, boozy, and leather accords. The opening is light, the notes are mild but recognizable, and pleasant. The lime and passionfruit create a soft fruity accord, the passionfruit is noticeable but not intense, it feels sweet and tropical; the pepper, ginger, and mind add a fresh cooling spicy touch; the vodka is the light, white-alcohol type, not bold, not intense, but boozy. The woodsy notes are soft, the leather and amber are projecting accords, the leather is a soft touch. The fragrance is very linear, all notes come up as soon as the fragrance is applied and continues into the dry-down, the only noticeable change is the projection, it goes from moderate to low. One Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Men EDT has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a low projection, light vodka, gin, and passion fruit fragrance with spicy, leather, and woody accords. The fragrance feels boozy, diluted, fruity, inexpensive, soft leathery, moderate-quality, masculine, playful, short-lived, sweet, tropical, weak, woody, young, and pleasant.

This makes me so nose blind, but what I can say is that I hate the smell of anise but this doesn't smell like that to me. Instead it smells of vodka and menthol, it has that typical vodka smell to it and then add a bit of menthol in here and make it a bit sweeter. Overall I think it's more of an "anti fragrance" meaning you spray this stuff on when you want to smell like something but also smell like nothing. Because this basically doesn't really have any notes in it kinda like the molecule fragrances actually but instead of ambroxan or iso e super you're essentially just spraying yourself with the smell of vodka and aldehydes lmao. I think it's a sin to compare it to the traditional 212. They have different proposals since the original is fully floral and this one follows a row over energy, which began with 212 VIP (2010). But I agree that for an Eau de Parfum, the result disappoints a bit because it behaves like an Eau de Toilette. The bottle i own is 2022 batch, so looking at the votes for longetivity here (with majority on long lasting), was it reformulated so badly at some point? As some people in the comment section mentioned - this seems to be a clubbing scent, so maybe it will come alive in warmer months (as I'm rather not clubbing person myself), fingers crossed if that's its original purpose. I definitely get the booziness....Now when I think of boozy, I always think of CH Men Prive or something brown and heavy, but this is clear and fresh-boozy! As it settles, the pepper comes out clean and clear. Lasted a long time on my skin and especially on my clothes. I got many compliments when I wore this, especially from other women. :-) I think you can wear this to go to work, a family dinner or a casual date. Worked well in summer.VIP is the dark, harsh and strong brother of CH Men. It should have been named "CH Men Intense".. But CH Men is a masterpiece and perhaps Mrs. Emilie thought that 212 VIP does not deserve that name :) I bought this fragrance when willing to chose between one of the Dolce&Gabbana scents. I found them way too heavy and peppery on my skin so I asked the assistant to show me something more fresh and sweet. After smeeling loads of perfumes I found Herrera's Rose' suprisingly fruity and joyfull. I've decided to give it a try buying a set containing also a fragranced body lotion. I think it was a great choice, my boyfriend just fell in love with this scent and he always says that he admires the way how the perume matches the natural scent of my skin and how it lasts on the pillows and bedlinen even when I'm gone.

Most people say it's a clubbing or a night out fragrance and they are correct, but to me, it's pretty versatile as well. You can pull this one anywhere you like, even at the office, in case you wake up in "what a drag" mode to merry things hopefully, but don't push it. This is very classy, elegant, and can be worn for day or evening events. I tried this on actually at work one Friday afternoon and coworkers thought that this was most definitely "my scent" because it melted into my chemistry so well. They all thought I could easily wear it in the office. Longevity is awesome on my skin. Most probably just warm weather appropriate. Will try in winter to see how it wears, but I'm guessing the wood notes would be more pronounced.

By the way... my husband hates it and I don't understand why. He doesn't know why either, but he hates it lol. Thankfully for him I wasn't wearing this everyday anymore when we first met.

So my impressions on this are positive. I can conclude that the vanilla note is very dominant and I am sure you will also smell the vanilla note as long as the fragrance lasts. At the beggining it gives me a sense of freshness, I don't know for sure why, but very probably due to the lavender. You can also sense a light alcoholic vibe maybe due to the absynthe note too. But in general I sense the frangrance is vanilla based and it has a sweet vibe all the way from the beggining to the end. This fragrance smells fantastic, it is one of my favorites. I would love to wear this perfume on a daily basis but it is not powerful enough in me. Its sillage is very poor, imperceptible, others can't smell it even at your side. Of course, they can feel it if they hug you. On the skin, it lasts approximately 2 hours, and on clothes it can last up to 5 hours.Ideal after shower, it makes you feel fresh but not perfumed, it is an aroma that only you know you are wearing and you would feel the entire day as if you just stepped out the shower.
