About this deal

This is then connected to a Technic axle with four bars that sits on the side of the wall. Turning the axle raises and lowers the drawbridge. It’s a neat little play feature that again represents a significant update on castles of old, which used string and were quite fiddly to operate and construct. As a massive fan of all things Vintage LEGO, and Classic Castle, I had my apprehensions when I heard that LEGO was going to take on a Castle as part of its Creator 3-in-1 theme, but all fears disappeared as soon as I started the build. Keepability [3]– This has the potential to be a great keeper, and is an all-around great set – unless of course LEGO goes full 18+ on a Castle set. As is standard with Creator sets, the focus is on the build rather than minifigures, so only three are included. They are fantastic figures, however!

The first section to be built is the fantastic-looking main entrance; a drawbridge over a small moat, flanked by two towers bearing red-and-white banners. In short, 31120 Medieval Castle is an absolutely brilliant set, so stop reading this review and go buy it. You won’t regret it. It’s a substantially large set thanks to its height, but also has a fairly compact footprint, which means that if you’re low on display space, it shouldn’t be too hard to fit it in. Your comment that "I think I can guess at the interior…" makes a very strong point about how "samey" traditional castle sets often are in terms of features (for example, a gatehouse, dungeon, throne room, treasury, and some stone towers). However I'm honestly really impressed how this one goes "above and beyond" by including features that you wouldn't see in a typical "king's castle" set: arrow loops, half-timbered walls, working machicolations, a watchtower with a wooden hoarding, a garderobe, a fireplace, a smithy, a market stall, and even a moat! Not to mention the numerous landscaping elements like the mossy green hill, flowering tree, wildflowers, mushrooms, and crawling ivy. The unique polarographic sensor design of the Orbisphere 311xx Sensors is a proven performer wherever knowledge of O 2 content is critical.

Do I want a proper 18+ Castle with a ridiculous piece count and crazy build techniques? Absolutely, but this is a nice stepping stone, and hopefully if this sells really, really well will signal to LEGO that Classic Castle fans are still hungry for more. Actually it’s far earlier than D&D, it’s a classification from medieval heraldry. A true dragon had four legs and wings, only two legs with wings was a wyvern and no legs at all but still winged and you had a lindworm. How much this relates to actual folklore is questionable, obviously, entirely possible terms like dragon, wyvern and wyrm were largely interchangeable if you were a humble peasant. But the people who put this stuff on their shields and flags were very particularly about knowing exactly what they were putting on their shields and flags"Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage Sep 28, 2022: Replaced corrupted Tower instructions PDF file. Note that no changes were made to the instructions. Once again, the yellow wattle and daub is used to great effect around the watchtower, although there is very little detailing inside on either floor. The return of a castle-themed set (or line of sets) has been long awaited by fans of the original theme. I’d also be surprised if children nowadays are not still as enamoured with medieval castles, knights, battles, and dragons, as they were in the 70s when the eponymous 375 Castle was released. The latest weather data for Portet-sur-Garonne were collected Monday, 27 November 2023 at 14:20 from the nearest observation station of Portet-sur-Garonne.

Constructed around a torso made primarily of ball joints, the dragon has two hind legs with clawed feet, two curved and clawed wings, and an articulated tail. It’s quite top heavy, which makes posing it fairly difficult. It’s great fun that will last you a couple of hours (on the main Castle build) at a really affordable pricepoint. From a play point of view there’s plenty to take in and enjoy, but from a display point of view, these are the areas that juniorise the set and make it a little too busy and flashy for what would otherwise be a battle-hardened fortress of a castle. Similarly, I think the yellow and brown colour scheme is a reference to Series 20’s Tournament Knight.
