About this deal

This terrifying collection, written by hit author Michael Moreci ( The Plot, Barbaric ) and featuring gritty art from Todor Hristov ( Stranger Halloween Special), combines the science-fiction creatures of The Upside Down with spine-tingling Cold War intrigue and espionage as a new thread in the tapestry of Stranger Things . The following list of Stranger Things comics, Stranger Things books and other items is advisable for people who are already fans of the show. If you haven’t watched it yet, I would recommend watching all four seasons available now, as the extraneous material (books, comics, etc.) were not published until after multiple seasons were already released. Sometimes there are questions that should just remain unanswered for the greater good. Will Byers’ point of view was a mystery that could have stayed unsolved, leaving the viewers the opportunity to speculate on what he has been through and what was going through his head throughout the whole season. To try to cover all that ground within four issues was already, beforehand, an impossible task, or at least one that would come with severe flaws. In this case, the pacing was the biggest issue as the accelerated rhythm does not allow the reader to truly absorb and comprehend the amount of time Will Byers spends in this dark and sinister realm. The pacing does not also allow the reader to understand how much resilience was needed to fight through all the obstacles he faced. To deliver such a story simply takes away the stakes and gravity of what he goes through, even if it is for the sake of finding out what exactly it is he went through.

Zombie Boys takes place between seasons 1 and 2 of the Netflix show. Will is still dealing with the trauma he experienced while trapped in the Upside Down. Although Zombie Boys is a young adult graphic novel, it gives Stranger Things fans the best glimpse into Will's emotional aftermath after season 1. While the story does suffer from the pacing, there are some interesting angles that were explored. The privileged information for fans of the series that allow them to explain certain things that would otherwise have never been known in the TV series is still an upside to this graphic novel. It is also fun to see how Will Byers’ Dungeons & Dragons character plays a huge role as a defense mechanism to fight the darkness that engulfs his reality. Otherwise, the artwork is decent enough to capture some of the series’ magic while adding more elements of fantasy that would have been impossible to convey in the TV series. The character designs, however, could be a bit difficult to love with the awkward facial expressions, although it does a good job in drawing the actual actors, as you know them, instead of creating surrogates. The colours used are still adequate and rightly distinguish both realities, especially through the use of faded colours. So you just finished watching all seven supersized episodes of Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 and now you’re in the midst of withdrawals or post-series depression. I feel you. While waiting for the second part of season 4, why not look into all things related to Stranger Things? There’s more outside of the show like Stranger Things books and Stranger Things comics to enjoy!

I recently read (Korean-American) Pak's contribution to the revisioning of James Bond, where a Korean-American (!) guy teams with Bond, and actually overshadows him for much of the book. This is Pak's fantasy, obviously, and it is fun, in keeping with his basic project, above. The use of D&D was a core part of the boys’ friendship and their understanding of the monsters they faced in the show and she wanted to continue that in the comics as a means to "bring Will’s friends into the book via his memories of playing". [2] Besides, she was excited to use her gaming experiences to highlight other characters, particularly Mike. "Mike’s seen as that leader and making sure that his players are feeling comfortable and doing at least a shadow of what they’re supposed to do," she told. [3] Illustration [ ] A new character, Joey Kim, is introduced. As far as I know, Zombie Boys is Joey's only appearance. He's a new student who joins Will, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas to make a zombie movie. I'm not sure of the reason for Joey's introduction since he's not a canon character. Any random Hawkins student would work, and using a minor, canon character would add more depth to Hawkins. Vi siete mai chiesti cosa gli è accaduto, come faceva a muovere le lucine a casa Buyers, come è sopravvissuto al demogorgone?

When a leading Soviet scientist is abducted to work on a top-secret project, he comes face-to-face with the Kremlin’s new ultimate weapon—a Demogorgon! Insomma, questa graphic novel ha soddisfatto la mia sete di conoscenza di fan e contemporaneamente ha alleviato un po' la nostalgia che avevo verso la serie, dato che l'ho letta prima che venisse rilasciata la terza stagione! The Stranger Things comics, like most tie-in material, are always hogtied by how much they can do with the characters in the show, because they can't contradict or introduce things that might be important later on. So the easiest way to do that is to tell a story that doesn't feature any of those characters at all!

An anthology of vibrant new stories woven into the larger tapestry of the hit Netflix series! Discover the hidden stories from Hawkins, Indiana.

Taking Houser's suggestion, colorist Lauren Affe designed the book in the style of '80s comics while adding brighter tones to give a retro feel. [3] Honestly, the whole read is slightly depressing, because as anyone who’s watched “Stranger Things” knows, this is a world that’s RIFE with story-potential, that has all kinds of cool and exciting avenues to explore. Yet time and time again, writer Jody Houser seems determined to play things safe, choosing instead to either a.) recap stuff that we’ve already seen play out way more interestingly on the show, or b.) give us extended sequences where characters monologue about this thing or that thing, but overall, nothing of consequence really happens. Maybe it’s not her fault – perhaps Netflix and whoever is in charge of managing the property didn’t give her a lot of narrative leash to play with. But regardless of WHO’S fault it is, it doesn’t change the fact that, at the end of the day, “Volume I” is kind of a bummer to read. Something is amiss in Russia, and it's not just the borsch. There's a secret government prison investigating Demogorgons of all things - and a family whose lives are going to be swept up into the madness whether they like it or not. Outside of the comics, books and the show, there is some other media to enjoy within the Stranger Things franchise, including a short story collection, games and reference books that go behind-the-scenes of the series. Enter Kamchatka, which manages to introduce and make us care about a group of new characters all in four issues, so that when everything comes to a close you'll actually be sad to see them go. Yes, I'd rather have had a story about the characters we're familiar with, but this is a pretty good close second. Dr. Orlov's time is running out as his children continue their frantic search for him, now aided by a deadly spy known as Mr. Frost. However, Russian agents are determined to impede them and capture Frost no matter the cost. The good doctor finds himself face to face with the monster he has been kidnapped to save..

Stranger Things: FCBD 2020 (after season 3, shortly after the Byers and Eleven move out of Hawkins) Die Russen haben eine neue Superwaffe.

When Will Byers finds himself in the Upside Down, an impossible dark parody of his own world, he is understandably frightened. But that's nothing compared to the fear that takes hold when he realizes what's in that world with him!
