understand the visceral reactions Everything Everywhere All At Once seems to have engendered, for while the film's "the Daniels" (more capitalized, which according to several style books is verboten, or at least discouraged. That may seem like the very definition of minutiae, As the Wangs enter the federal building elevator on their way to their meeting with Deirdre something weird happens to Waymond, who story is one of Evelyn figuring out she's not quite as helpless as she might have initially thought, but it's also an examination of both a marriage

Are there different rules for capitalization in various so-called "multi verses"? This may be a salient if not exactly pressing question, since in this DI as relevant data points. Color reproduction is consistent, with primaries like blue and red appearing richer, and more delineated. Secondary hues look great, although not appreciably better. The increase in resolution isn't always on display but, in general, wide-angle, well-lit shots both interior and exterior look great. Close-ups tend to offer appreciable refinement and deeper resolvable texture on surfaces and physical features compared to the Blu-ray. The differences, while not staggering, are easily discernible.

looming audit being undertaken, headed by nemesis IRS agent Deirdre Beaubeirdre (Jamie Lee Curtis). Everything Everywhere All at Once was derived from a mix of 2.8K/3.4K digital sources and finished on a 4K DI for its presentation on Ultra HD Blu-ray. I honestly knew very little about this film prior to requesting it for review. I heard positive things about it and given that Michelle Yeoh was cast in the lead, I had to see what the fervor was about. So, I cued it up and let Everything Everywhere All at Once wash over me. First off, this is a mind bending, intelligently crafted sci-fi action comedy with a formulaic yet, refreshing narrative approach that boldly explores themes surrounding family, metaphysics and how we as human beings can sometimes take life for granted. While that all sounds very deep, the film takes a simple path toward striking its chords, relying on a group of easily definable people, each with characteristics that associate them within the story’s framework.

most natural looking palette overall, even if that can be kind of dowdy, as in the IRS office. The "multi verses" are almost a carnival ride of different universe, Lionsgate and A24 actually went to the trouble of having their public relations folks overtly ask that the "at" in the title of the film be looks. There's some somewhat soft focus "movie star" material featuring Evelyn as a marquee item that is kind of diffusely lit and almost effulgently Everything Everywhere All at Once comes to Blu-ray Disc from Lionsgate Home Entertainment featuring 1080p AVC encoded video and lossless Dolby Atmos/TrueHD 7.1 channel sound. Deleted Scenes– We get nearly 15 minutes’ worth of deleted scenes with some optional commentary by The Daniels. Given the 2+ hour running time, these were wisely cut.

Given the nature of the film, it’s hard to really classify how this truly looks. That’s a bit misleading, I realize, as it’s all part of the same cohesive film, but with the various different “universes” some have a unique look and feel. The film also employs different aspect ratios with some scenes being presented in 2.39:1 and others in a more traditional 1.85:1. What I will say is that this 4K image looks spot on. It’s nearly perfect. There seem to be a few instances in which the image appeared a bit soft, but it might have just been me. Colors pop, detail is off the charts (Jamie Lee Curtis has certainly looked better) and there’s even an animated sequence to mix things up more. Audio: How’s it sound? The film offers a number of what might be termed special effects comedic moments, and some of the writing is flat out hilarious, especially as This is one that, like The Matrix and some other movies it pays homage to, will likely be a model that thousands of movies borrow from in the future. It also is a reminder why smaller budgets can be key for creating new and interesting visuals instead of of the shiny 300+M cgi spectacles that have ironically become somewhat visually dull. They just swept the HCA midyear awards, but barring some other unexpected movie this year, they really should continue to sweep every award as it is a stunning achievement. as an underlying conceit that "this" Evelyn is, to borrow a concept from that aforementioned Wachowski enterprise, "the one" who may be able toNow, that's the CliffsNotes version of Everything Everywhere All At Once, but that may be somewhat akin to summing up all of recorded formed in the public consciousness like a veritable Venus from the half shell, but I personally started seeing a number of comments pass through my Audio Commentary– Writers/Directors Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert (aka “The Daniels”) give us everything we wanted or needed to know about the film, its inspiration and etymology. They’re razor sharp with their comments and this is must listen for any true fan of the film. number of films where a focal character "inhabits" either other people or other versions of themselves, admittedly courtesy of what might be cheekily
