condoms used and also not used - it is not discussed, but the h is aware and concerned, but is well aware she canāt make the H do anything he doesnāt want to do This book almost felt like the answer to the question, "What if the big bad wolf fell in love with Little Red Riding Hood?" Though it has many of the standard elements of a classic bully romance, there is just something about Dare's "platinum level" of psychopath that elevates this book beyond the genre. You feel like you are listening to a master class in villainy and manipulation the way in which Dare handles not only Hannah and Aubrey but all the people in his life. He always feels 10 moves ahead of every player on the board. Who can blame poor Hannah for falling for him? There are some TW ā ļø for sensitive readers since the material is dark, but if you are someone who consistently reads dark romance, I believe you will enjoy this audiobook with ease.
Did these cruel words need to be said just because Dare slashed Aubrey's tires with a knife and framed his future ex-girlfriend by leaving her manicured fingernail (the one he had broken so casually not a day beforeš) by Aubrey's car only to barge in and save the day later??šš»š„ŗšš» The way Dare manipulates situationsš. Sure, it wasn't by honest means, but when he wants something to happen, he makes it happenš¤·š»āāļø... slashing tires, using a nail gun on a person, breaking acrylic nails, drugging people (ahem... But instead of putting up a little fight or at least filing a police report for the sexual assault, this girl softly kissed the hand that was effectively muffling her pleas to stop? Good, bad; itās all relative, and it hardly matters. Baymont, California is a land of beautiful villains and happy-ever-afters that are just out of reach. Despite that, Aubrey is far from miserable. I wouldn't have had as good of a time with this story if that was the case. It was fun to explore the dynamic between a psychopath and the woman that loves him. In real life, this would be a horror story, but since it's not, we're free to enjoy the insanity!
