As for power, the Dolphin has a power supply unit that takes up to 25% of its size. The Dolphins power supply is not waterproof, so it doesn’t dive in with the device. Furthermore, the power cord has a length of 60 feet, which should let the device roam around just fine. Besides, it has an anti-tangle feature that lets it swivel freely.
Most pool cleaners have one common problem. They filter the water by expelling powerful jets from the bottom. While this method proved effective, it has one major side effect. I didnt need all the bells and whistles of the big boy as I will be taking it out of the pool after each use. My pool is only about 25 feet across so the power line on this is also perfect. I see it up in the middle and it has more than enough line to run free. After unboxing the pool cleaner, we felt that the setup was easy as the mesh bag filter was already in place. However, the included instructions were not clear, nor was there a user manual. Our pool is surrounded by a cedar elm tree and bamboo, so we typically have to remove leaves from the pool about once a week. This pool cleaner was able to remove a basket of leaves with each use. Plus, the filter compartment was easy to access and caught pollen and sediment. In its debut run, totaling two hours, this handy little robot did what I was unable to do in two weeks, and about 1000% better. After only running for one cycle, I retrieved the unit and took out the filters to examine what was captured. I was frankly amazed with what was inside; probably a solid few pounds of sand, dirt and other types of debris that had settled at the bottom of the pool, most of which I have not even seen. I was beyond pleased. If you’re going for the Dolphin, there are some safety precautions that you should consider. Here’s a brief list.
On the downside, we found the interface to be a bit confusing, and it’s not controlled by a remote or app. Still, from a convenience and ease of use point, this robot satisfies.If you’re in a hurry or have somewhere to be, skim through the Dolphin’s specifications and decide for yourself if it’s worth it. I’ll also give you a sneak peek into its pros and cons. These three features are present in all robot pool cleaners. Let’s see how the Dolphin managed to get itself on top of the list. Design In terms of design, we appreciated that this option was more lightweight than the pool cleaner we were using previously. It was also quiet while it was in use, and we liked that it stopped moving when it was done cleaning. This pool cleaner features a chamber filter bag that fills with debris while it cleans. It hangs outside of the unit, so it’s easy to see when it needs to be cleaned and remove it when necessary. Setting it up is a breeze, as it’s incredibly easy to drop in and comes with a hook that can attach to your cleaning pole. Once it’s in the water and you’ve chosen which of the three modes you want, it’ll run totally on its own, not requiring you to do anything but wait for it to finish up. Truly, there's really nothing you need to deal with other than charging it ahead of time.
