The result is an array of books that are much more than the simple text within them. That’s probably why Eric Carle, the master illustrator of kids’ books, made all his pictures so captivating for audiences of all ages. For the most part, this collection of art, autobiography, essays, and photographs was written and constructed rather well. It is an agreeable overview of Carle's life and work, a consideration of the genesis of his ideas, a look at how he fashions his collages, and admiring words from some of his colleagues.This is our third story time in this six-week series where we are building the theme on various aspects of the Carle classic "hungry caterpillar".
