About this deal

The set comes well presented and, although I note some comments about the technical quality of the disc transfer, the visual and audio quality does not in any way detract from the fact that the discs are certainly highly watchable. In the Series 6 episode "From Fulham with Love" Norton appears for less than a minute, but spends that entire appearance denouncing Chisholm for his "personal vendetta against Arthur Daley".

This 17-disc collection brings together Series 6-10 of Minder, complete and uncut as originally broadcast, with a collection of special features celebrating the success of one of Britain’s most popular and enduring television classics. To give you a sense of scale, the highest rated episode of Minder was broadcast in 1984 and viewed by 16. A Number of Old Wives' Tales', 'The Second Time Around', 'Second-Hand Rose', 'Ride to Scratchwood', 'Hypnotising Rita', 'The Balance of Power' and 'Around the Corner'. Blending crime with cockney humour, the chemistry between the colourful characters, played brilliantly by George Cole and Dennis Waterman, was first rate, set against a backdrop of modern London. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Series 7 episodes comprise: 'It's a Sorry Lorry Morrie', 'Days of Fine and Closures', 'Fatal Impression', 'The Last Video Show', 'Fiddler On the Hoof' and 'The Wrong Goodbye'. This DVD set does not include the "comeback" episodes aired by Channel 5 in 2009 featuring Shane Ritchie and Lex Shrapnel - this was not a hit and was pulled by Channel 5.

Another aspect of the series is also that it rekindles a sense of nostalgia about London in the 1980s and 90s plus very effectively stereotypes police officers of that era too. This 34-disc special edition brings together all 10 series of Minder, complete and uncut as originally broadcast, with a collection of special features celebrating the success of one of Britain's most popular and enduring television classics. Cole made an opening introduction, saying he had been asked to choose his favourite episode, but "all were of such quality that he could not".citation needed] The characters often drank at the local members-only Winchester Club, where owner and barman Dave Harris ( Glynn Edwards) acted, often unwillingly, as a messenger for Arthur, and turned a blind eye to his shady deals. The kid believes him and goes to sort out some hardened geezers in a snooker club and the next shot you see is the youngster coming out black and blue.

There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. Arthur frequently mentioned his wife, who was never named or seen and referred to as "'Er indoors" (Ray would refer to her as "Auntie" in the later series). These long-deleted, sought after DVD editions are finally back in print which include exclusive audio commentaries with series star George Cole! In Terry and Arthur's final episode "The Wrong Goodbye", it is suggested that one of Terry's prison terms was taken in place of Arthur and explains why Arthur and Terry have a deep bond, though casts Arthur's treatment of Terry in far less flattering light. Indeed, it is Terry's romantic interests who are far less impressed with Arthur's hold on Terry and frequently suggest that he should break free from Arthur and start making his own path in life (often as a precursor to a deeper relationship). This 34-disc special edition brings together all 10 series of Minder, complete and uncut as originally broadcast, with a collection of special features celebrating the success of one of Britain’s most popular and enduring television classics. Like many British sitcoms, the show is set within a certain social class, in this case working class west London.
