Matheson says that ‘I’ll admit that maybe my first book was selfish because I didn’t worry about people cooking from it’ and it’s certainly true that some of the recipes were unashamedly restaurant territoy.Matheson’s celeriac broth, while it takes some time is so rich and earthy that it gives loads of flavor to anything, not just vegetarian dishes. Contrary to what happened in the previous book, all the recipes in this book can be made by cooks of all skill levels.

It's full of ambitious projects and cool guy in the kitchen, chef's knife tattoo, look at the expense hugeness of the things I have smoked swagger. In Home Style Cookery, Matty opens up his his home and shares his approachable and tasty style of cooking.Chef Matty Matheson follows up his New York Times bestseller with an even bigger book that is all about quality home cooking. Despite the title and nice images, these are not recipes that will be rotated into my routine home cooking. Recommendation: Matty Matheson is a well-known Canadian chef who tells it like it is, which makes Home Style Cookery fun to read and easy to cook from. I also like that Matheson mixes traditional Western dishes with recipes for foods from all over the globe–which fits our tastes and lifestyle quite well. This is one of those cookbooks that gets stained with food, the pages are worn, and that you reach for again and again.
