About this deal

I love the built in sun visor an the extra bit of hood that zips out meaning baby can be almost completely shaded from the sun or has a nice dark atmosphere for gtting to sleep with out and about. Introductions are limited to motor finance, CarMoney Limited will pay us a fixed commission per paid out deal. Are there are other major differences between the two and do any of you have a pronounced preference for one model or the other?

I bought my Maclaren Techno XT as a companion to my Bugaboo Cameleon (see separate review) and it has been fantastic from day one. This stroller has all-wheel shocks and a nicely padded seat with additional comfort inserts to provide the baby with a pretty cozy ride and place for napping. It's such a travel hybrid - the weight and dimensions when folded are the weak side of the stroller, on the other hand the large internal dimensions, canopy and solid frame are a plus compared to modern "mini" strollers. True to Maclaren style, the umbrella fold mechanism is foolproof (although granny finds it a bit too stiff). The Maclaren Techno XT has four recline positions: upright, completely flat, and two “relaxed” positions in between.

Newborn up to 25kg , UPF 50+ extendable waterproof hood, single handle, reclining seat, wheels suspension. There are several pushchairs out there which fully recline to allow your child to nap pretty much horizontally, however surprisingly I’ve found the seated upright positions are never fully upright. While this was in the mid to low range of all the strollers we tested, more than half of our testers thought the stroller was only somewhat lightweight.

Main characteristics Stroller Type: Umbrella Number of Seats: Single Seat Max Weight Capacity: 40 lb. Keep in mind, this is not the same kind of suspension you get on a jogger, but it’s better than nothing. Thinking about my current pushchair and what I would like to change about it I think the one thing a pushchair should have is adjustable handles. My daughter slept really well in this when out and about thanks to the large hood and ability to fully recline it.The Techno XT was also released in limited editions belonging to Maclaren Objects of Design: collaboration with BMW M, classical Albert Thurston model to pay tribute to the inventor of suspenders and Spitfire, the aircraft inspired version to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Maclaren brand. It doesn't hurt them to have that refles but it really disturbes their sleep and my almost sole purpose for going out with the pram was to get mine to sleep, well, whether we went out with that intention or not they always did. With four recline positions, a one hand, five second folding mechanism and front and rear wheel suspension it’s easy to see why the Techno XT has been a market leader for years. You won't be able to do it with a baby in the seat, and it takes a lot of manual threading and rethreading. I have also taken the seat unit apart a couple of times to clean it - very easy to do, also means you're left with the just the frame and wheels which hubby was able to hose down after a trip to the farm!

In our opinion, almost any other lightweight stroller or option from our best stroller review would be better than the Techno. For an umbrella style buggy it is very sturdy and quite well sprung, of course the twin foam wheels are not designed for heavy terrain or snow. So, the immediate draw for me with the Techno XT is that it specifies being suitable from birth to 5 years!Suitable from birth, it fits in the car, umbrella folds so it doesn’t take up the whole hallway, it’s comfortable for even the sturdiest three and a half year old. so I bought the Techno when DD was 18 months knowing that I wanted a third child and that sometimes it was going to be easier with a stroller than a big pram. This stroller has nicer fabric and components, but the construction of the stroller is lacking in the way the parts come together. In the back, you need to push in this metal oval-shaped button (on both sides) then pull the rear axle out.

Opening the buckle can be done with two fingers, and all the pieces fit together intuitively and smoothly. It has a traditional umbrella collapse pioneered by Maclaren, but it requires two hands to fold all the material to complete the fold.It has a very nice thick adjustable padded 5-point harness with a hard-to-unlock buckle for toddlers, but very easy to for parents. The only problem I have noticed is although the seat is padded, the frame that runs along the spine of the seat is quite uncomfortable and sometimes leaves my son with a red mark on the back of his head. You need proper suspension as babies still have the moro reflex (they throw their little arms up in the air when you go over a bump) so really, as comfy as possible and biggish wheels is best.
