Throughout this book there is a sense of dread over what might happen next and what the outcome will be. Jonah finds himself torn between giving his best to this case and his job and doing his best to care for his family. When he notifies the Los Angeles police of the murder, they recognize the victim as a minor player in organised crime. Detective Jonah Sheens quickly discovers that Keely and her sister, Nina, disappeared from a children’s home a week ago.

I would have rated this book higher had it not been for the various parts of the book which seemed slow.
