About this deal

Ellie soon learns that Will has a bit of a reputation for being anti-social, keeping himself firmly to himself and he also seems extremely grumpy and aloof.

Spent years / decades battling chronic anxiety and mental health issues and wanted to be in “normal health”; it was only once I accepted my diagnosis that life and my self-esteem started to rebuild. The people on and around Rowan Hill helped build her back up, and let her see herself for the star that she really was. Leonard Cohen was a good example of someone who was conscious of his brokenness but kept playing concerts till late in life giving pleasure, comfort and hope to so many. About the last third of the book takes a serious turn as it addresses a wrong that often isn't talked about, particularly in literature. And yet another turn-off for me is the fact that this woman is still wallowing over a year after her nasty experiences (the accident and a breakup).

I see cracks as wounds or merely imperfections, whereas the light is pure love, virtue of kindness, forgiveness and gentleness and understanding to overcome the darkness. I really enjoyed the period of history it covered ,World War 1 , with all the difficulties and challenges faced by families . The historical background, the war and the impact on everyone life, the changes and the events in everyone life. A potential interpretation of the song follows the concept of the female singer having an affair with the male singer — the male singer being married or in a long-term relationship while the female singer is single. Be ready for a story that you will find 'warm, genuine, entertaining, heartbreaking' and still such beautiful read that you will find it hard to put down this well written novel until the very end. She's getting over a bad breakup and hopes Rowan Hill will be a place to recover and to find a new purpose. Putting her life back together after a break-up is going to take time, but the crumbling country estate?

The story starts with a car accident that Will comes upon, and being a first-aider he helps the girl involved. Living with a disability; caring for someone who cannot live independently; bringing up a disabled child – the Advice Centre has information on benefits, legislation, keeping warm and well, fall prevention, generally coping with being a carer. The lantern above, on the left, is by Amy Cooper, an artist who makes lovely, organic, porcelain luminaries of many sizes and shapes. Good book, I'll probably read another by this author in the future but I will probably shy away from it if it is over 500 pages again. There is no benefit in holding onto false hope, endlessly seeking a cure, or a way I could be patched up to prevent further brokenness.

There may well be something in your suggestion that those who realise that we are all broken in some way, cope better than those who don’t. Noosha, thanks for sharing your brokenness insights, and the sources of wisdom that has inspired you.As you say, there can be beauty in the cracks in our lives and self-acceptance helps us find what happiness we can; Leonard Cohen is a favourite singer of mine.
