About this deal

This Is What We Do’ is a studio album from the legendary Leftfield, the first since 2015’s ‘Alternative Light Source’ and just their fourth in their three-decade career.

In 2010, Neil Barnes reignited the Leftfield name, and went on to release an acclaimed album ( Alternative Light Source) touring the world with the full live band. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Henderson makes a major contribution to the album, especially on Totem Pole, where his solos showed off his singular style, threatening to upstage Morgan, who is also fairly impressive here. As soon as I heard this was being released I knew I had to get a copy, especially as I had picked up the "Accumulator" white label and was blown away by the "Ambient / Dub Version". Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers.

This Is What We Do is full of the stature you expect, with lead-heavy beats and snarling bass underpinning a treasure trove of hooks. This Is What We Do is Leftfield’s first album of new music since 2015’s acclaimed Alternative Light Source, and is set to be released via Virgin Records on December 2.

I honestly think this is their best work since the debut, full of spacy atmosphere and dubby deliciousness. Their 2017 tour featured 7 sold out UK shows (including 2 X Brixton Academies), a sold out world tour and various festival headlines. After reaching a new audience through Idris Elba's Gucci ad, this is their 4th album in their 28 year history.

This cover image is a marked departure to previous Leftfield album imagery, chosen to reflect the warmth and positivity of the album and to celebrate the connections that we make with others throughout our lives. Their last tour (in 2017) featured 7 sold out UK shows (including 2 X Brixton Academies), a sold out world tour and various festival headlines. Neil Barnes brought the group back in 2010 and went on tour, recorded a new album and generally pushed Leftfield back into the limelight.Just clock lead single 'Pulse' and you'll know everything you need to about the level they're operating at these days. A continuation of their lineage, which can be traced back to 1989, This Is What We Do is a bold counterpoint to the self-conscious cookie-cutter dance music that dominates the current landscape. For a long time, Leftfield were cast in the historic lens of that classic 90s phenomenon, the chart-baiting dance 'band'.
