The characters are well written, their back stories are interesting and the overriding story is of a couple learning to trust their feelings and give in to them. Claire and Theo have a natural chemistry and when they get together, what should be all business, turns into so much more. I hadn’t meant to tell her the truth, hadn’t meant to kiss her, hadn’t meant to take her home and fuck her with my tongue next to the Christmas tree. Theo had hurt her badly so I expected some grovelling and a little bit more resistance from our girl.

There were ups and downs and a TON of self doubt (sometimes too much for my taste) but love bought it all together in the end. I cried for this broken boy inside this conflicted man, wanting to give him a hug and make his pain go away. Claire, the ever so patient and too trusting, realises what Theo is struggling with and is very forgiving. It’s why he never stays in one place too long so that he can avoid forming any lasting relationships.

One night turns into a snowed-in weekend away, and even the blizzard of the century can't cool the fire between us. But when Claire sets up a meeting with “Fred” a few days before the wedding, he’s not at all what he looks like in the catalog.

I get trauma, usually people who are traumatized don't see their actions outright in the moment or even after reflection.Theo MacLeod is HOT with dark hair, dark eyes, and a muscular body that would make Roman statues weep in envy. The beauty of their story is getting lost with these two as they explore and discover something about themselves. But knowing I would get my HEA I had high hope he would come around and give Claire the lover she deserved. Anyways, guy meets girl, they agree to make this a one night stand, but he is terrified of commitment so when he hears her use the word DATE once in a sentence he runs away scared.

She was exactly the salve I’d hoped she would be— the moment I crushed my lips to hers, I felt the conflict in my body resolve. Where Clair lacks adventure and faith in the unknown and jumping with out looking Theo has that all down pat.I have been meaning to pick up a Melanie Harlow book for a long time now, she's been coming up on my radar quite a bit, but I believe I started with the wrong one. I knew it existed because I’d read about it in books and seen it in movies and even witnessed it in real life… and I didn’t want to settle for anything less. While what her character represents is ideal, I do not find myself inspired or motivated to follow path, maybe because I think the pacing was kind of fast, and the writing wasn’t profound enough for me. This is a story of two people who are complete opposites in every way but find so much comfort in each other.
