About this deal

One can hardly measure the amount of testosterone, angst, and brutal fortitude that this film exudes. For those who have been living under a rock for the past decade, the story of 'Fight Club' goes a little something… like this: Edward Norton plays a nameless office drone (keep in mind that 1999 was also the year that the office drone fought back - 'American Beauty,' 'Office Space') who works for an insurance company. While his work on Alien 3 drew more criticism that credit, his next film would thrust him into fame and recognition. I've got to say it is one of the best movies I've ever seen, there's just a certain atmosphere about the whole movie. Her appearance and character are vastly different from anything she’s done before, but she pulls it off well, and her strong skills shine through.

Based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk (Choke), Fight Club is a pitch-black comedy that follows a ticking-time-bomb insomniac (Edward Norton; The Incredible Hulk) seeking an escape from his mundane existence and white-collar job in American society. The featurette A Hit in the Ear: Ren Klyce and the Sound Design of Fight Club follows, which also includes the ability to tinker with the audio of four different scenes from the film. They find their release from the prison of reality through underground fight clubs, where men can be what the world denies them. For example, there's that scene after the car crash where Tyler Durden is giving his grand view for a post-apocalyptic utopia.

For example, a subtle choral accompaniment can now clearly be heard as Jack spills his guts into Bob's enormous bitch tits. Subsequently Jeff did camera work on a number of Fincher’s other features including ‘ Se7en’ and ‘ The Game’.Before long, Jack and Tyler are beating each other to a pulp in a bar parking lot, a cathartic slugfest that delivers the ultimate high. On the whole this BD release is a whole lot clearer, sharper and better defined than the previous DVD release. I got a small comical shock at the start when I loaded the disc: Never Been Kissed (those that have seen it know what i mean), thought the cashier had given me the wrong disc. He had enjoyed moderate success with the stylish horror-thriller Se7en a few years prior, but it was Fight Club that truly put him on the filmmaking map.
