About this deal

Fearne Cotton's voice is familiar to millions, whether that's through television, radio or on her hugely successful 'Happy Place' podcast. I had this exact problem myself a year ago, and undertook my own 48-hour silence to help repair my vocal cords.

Fearne Cotton’s voice is familiar to millions, whether that’s through television, radio or on her hugely successful Happy Place podcast. Fearne is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and also a patron for Post Pals, Tyler’s Trust and Coppafeel! They are the mostly made up of authentic parts of me, but how much easier would it be to be 100% true to myself all the time… but then what I would I leave to be with my closest and what social boundaries and etiquette would that cross? it didn't suprise me that this was another lovely, beautiful book, full of inspiration, straight talking experience, and pure care for the reader. We hit the 2/3s mark that seems to be quite familiar in books from similar authors and figures in the last year - almost like the publisher has an agenda to fulfil and the author duly deliver a short chapter accordingly - the worthy moment when the author speaks up on behalf of causes that have no direct link to the context of the chapters, but it feels positively shoe-horned in (my autocorrect just changed that to show horned which is a very apt proffering given the circumstances!

But, recently I have found the heaviness that resides in many spiritual books inaccessible to my low lockdown concentration. I’ve learnt I’ve got a lot to learn about myself and I’ve got to let go of other peoples truths about me and have the courage to be the person I want to be. Fearne is a mother of two, and step-mother of two, and closely supports a range of charities - most notably mental health charity Mind, The Prince's Trust and Coppafeel! I can’t make it though because I’m taking Rex and a few of the lads from the class bowling for his birthday. About the Author: Fearne Cotton is one of the best known and most popular broadcasters in the UK and is most recently known as the Founder of the wellbeing brand, Happy Place. As she considered what silence would mean, Fearne began to think about other times her voice had gone unheard – as a young woman, as ‘just the talent’, as the foil to louder, more dominant figures. As a book designer, I have been pleased to learn that people have been reading more books, which has been great for the publishing industry.

She has been practicing holistic and alternative therapies for over 20 years and has trained worldwide with masters and influential teachers of breathwork, bodywork, counselling and other healing modalities. This was the first in a series of books talking about her own, and some of the not so positive, experiences with happiness. I liked the fact it was written during the pandemic so the struggles of what is happening in the world right now can be felt and widely acknowledged. I have to say everything and I mean everything Fearne said in this book I could correlate back to myself. The brand was created from her first book released in 2017, Happy , which was a Sunday Times Bestseller and a silver Nielsen Bestseller.

Brave, vulnerable and deeply personal, Speak Your Truth shares Fearne's compelling story and helps you to shape your own. How incredibly inspiring to watch a public figure, publicly talk about how TV Hosting and Radio Presenting isn’t her truth. I have read all of Fearne's books over the years and always found them to be a life line in helping me live my life in my most authentic way.

It didn’t support me to consider, or improve, my own issues around speaking out and irritated me to listen to because the constant use of ‘I’, ‘me’ and ‘myself’ were repetitive to listen to. On a more practical level, the book designer fits the text into the number of pages and book size budgeted for by the publisher.
