It’s important that the handle is comfortable and feels good in the hand, but it’s also useful if it’s made from some form of plastic or thermopolymer which doesn’t conduct heat well. Simply plug them into a plug socket, you will probably need an extension lead so don’t forget to uncoil the extension lead (as shown above) because these electric weed burners draw a massive 2000w of power. Weed burners are hot enough to kill weeds after only 5 seconds, but the weeds won’t degrade instantly, and if you spend 30 seconds on each weed, the heating element of the burner will fail, or you’ll get frustrated and give up or you’ll leave a trail of scorch marks across your garden! E-Therm is one of the market’s most energy-efficient weed burners with documentation on savings on gas consumption of up to 40 percent. cable length which is a little short but not the worst, but as we said you’re going to need an extension anyway. In terms of the product, whilst fully functioning, it seems to cope with only particularly small weeds and anything medium sized and above just stays there. No issues were found with this burner and it’s definitely an option we recommend, it’s just you don’t really get much more compared to the NASUM burner (apart from an extra attachment for thermoplastics) but it’s 20 quid more, so it’s not the best value for money. I have found that I just go to the highest setting (2nd setting) to get the most out of it, so really, I suppose it could just have the one setting.
They completely died off and left no visible traces of life, so I don’t think they’ll be coming back either. While this burner can be used for a range of tasks thanks to the high output, there’s no additional nozzles included that would make it more versatile. Now I’ve used both gas weed burners (mainly in the nursery) and, more recently, some of the best electric weed burners in my own garden for dealing with weeds, as shown below. We tested it on some long-established weeds including dandelions, and they’ve never made another appearance.
