Since it is a right handed mouse, I’d expect the back button to be on the left when I look straight at it, to mirror my browser. For those with large hands, wanting an improvement on a normal mouse, this might be a cost-effective solution for you with the above provisos.
The mouse came in around 6 hours ago, so I chucked the other sad and exhausted mouse to the side, hunted down some AAA batteries and I was off to the races. The mouse may feel a bit ergonomic, but what’s the point if you still have no “shortcuts”, dear Anker?It is ridiculous that these buttons can’t have any function in Microsoft Office and even not in Windows Explorer (did I mention that already? Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). The installation (removing the dongle and inserting the dongle into my workstation, a Windows 10 machine) went smoothly, nothing of note. It’s also fine operating at the same time as Evoluent mice on the PC, and my Magic Trackpad and mouse, on the Mac.
The latter is an odd addition, but the shape is sufficiently arrow-like that it manages to give it a slight “cool” factor (only slight, mark you). The mouse features a total of six buttons, but since it doesn't have software, you can't program them to whatever you'd like. This means that by default, I can’t help comparing the Anker alternative to Evoluent, at pretty much every turn.
