As with all the vinyl releases I’ve heard in Young’s Archive Series, Harvest stands as a model of how reissues should be done. Though I often consider vinyl to be a bit like wine - worn vinyl has probably been thoroughly enjoyed and played often - you could keep vinyl unplayed or wine unopened but in both cases you don’t enjoy it!

The band on the album had also played with Neil on Harvest: Ben Keith, Spooner Oldham, Tim Drummond, and Kenny Buttrey. As much classic rock radio abuse as it got, 'Needle And The Damage Done' is still a song about a heroin addict and the preamble to Tonight's The Night. Anyway, I’ve been listening a lot to Radio Paradise while working from home and he features fairly regularly on there and that has sort of piqued my interest to explore his (large!Do yourself and your ears a favour, listen to this remaster on a well set up turntable through a decent . The reverb on Young’s voice sounds more vivid and he is placed more securely out in front of the ensemble. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart for two weeks, and spawned two hit singles, "Old Man", which peaked at No. The slightly thin sound of his harmonica on the original pressing also benefits from more weight and impact. Time has been generous to Harvest,which features more lyrical depth than its outward romanticism may suggest.

The first is Harvest Time, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London.
