About this deal

Children's books are full of varied and colourful portrayals of queens: some wield Evil Powers, while others save the day in interesting ways. Tempted by the promise of endless Turkish Delight, Edmund becomes the White Witch's servant - and its up to his brother and sisters to release him from his enchantment and to rid Narnia of the witch. Today, we are looking at the best covers for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the highest rated non-English Narnia covers. Frozen in eternal winter, Narnia is a land of snow and pine forests, and its creatures are enslaved by the terrible White Witch.

I don’t think it stood out to me in the poll but taking a long look at it in this video really gave me an appreciation for it. Lewis wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. Lewis's most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Mere Christianity, Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics in The Chronicles of Narnia. But I would give it a 4 star because I know like whats going to happen next but I really enjoyed it though!I wanted to give the reader a sense of looking into another world, and achieved this by intricately cutting different shades of paper to build up each layer of the scene. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. It is interesting that both the Pauline Baynes LWW covers showcase a scene right after Aslan is back from the dead.

Those are very memorable moments and showing children safely interacting with a big scary lion is cool. NarniaWeb is maintained by fans and is in no way connected to Walden Media, Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Fox, The Mark Gordon Company, Netflix, or the C. The Queen let another drop fall from her bottle on to the snow and instantly there appeared a round box, tied with green silk ribbon, which, when opened turned out to contain several pounds of the best Turkish Delight.I also like how they use the same characters in each book and they also take some away in one and back in in another. When the Pevensie children - Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy - step through a wardrobe door in the strange country house where they are staying, they find themselves in the land of Narnia. You voted in your thousands to tell us your favourite books on our list of the top 100 best children's books from the last century. The cover with her artwork on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the same as the paperback edition that I have. When Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter take a step through a sea of fur coats, they find themselves in a land of talking animals, magic and more.

I don’t normally go for the montagey floating head covers, but Number 7 strikes me as better than any of the English/American Silver Chair covers. This classic story is certain to capture young imaginations, cleverly blending elements of fairy-tale and fantasy to create a wonderfully engaging adventure. All the words that has been made up the type of portal is interesting the personality of every single character in the book everything comes to life from the book! Each piece was sweet and light to the very center and Edmond and never tasted anything more delicious.Adult readers will be quick to spot the Christian symbolism woven through C S Lewis's story, which some critics have found problematic - but children will enjoy the magic of this spellbinding adventure in its own right. Handmade project // For this brief we said goodbye to the Macs and created handmade images for a book cover or film poster. I like some of the picture books David Wiesner (who did Number 4) has done, but I find his Narnia book covers to be very bland. Part of me wishes that Number 3 could have won because then the final four would have two Pauline Baynes covers and two Chris Van Allsburg covers. I love this book and it gave me many mixed feelings towards Edmund from the time he betrayed Lucy and I was scared he was going to be on the White witch's side throughout the whole story.
