About this deal

This book was all over the place and now I feel like I need to read a gossipy young adult novel to cleanse my literary palate. As others have said, she really, really needed a good editor to go through this, but if you can overlook all those bits, the underlying story is really good. The books tell a much more fascinating and truer version of events that had me looking in the shadows at night after reading chapters. Did she believe the decision was her own privileged one to make, or did this woman suspect she risked punishment from the God who reserves such judgments as His own, unforgiving of those who take this matter into mortal hands?

This memoir waited thirty years to be told, allowing the time and distance necessary for her family to reveal these long held secrets.Other examples of real danger where when the girls were mysteriously trapped- behind the chimney, two girls were at risk of suffocation, one in an old box that wouldn't open although it wasn't fastened, and the other in a trunk she doesn't remember getting into, and was nearly impossible to open in the first place.

Very well written by Andrea and I really enjoyed the follow up from different family members years after the events. I hope it changes but MAN the author makes her own dad out to be a total dick in this book, there is NOTHING sympathetic about him. The author adds to much "fluff", she jumps Around, is incredibly repetitive and talks too much about stuff that has nothing to do with what the story is actually supposed to be about. Now is the time to tell the whole truth about what happened in a house alive with death as we lived an illuminating decade of life. This collective memoir chronicles the events which occurred between 1970-1980 in an ancient farmhouse in Harrisville, R.Time suddenly became irrelevant, fractured by spirits making their presence known then dispersing into the ether. Wonder if the doll that I saw in the trailer is in 2nd book or 3rd, cause she wasn't in the first book. I found this to be an interesting recounting of one family's experience with the paranormal when they purchase a haunted house and live there for ten years.

The female figure who showed herself with a broken neck was identified by the Warrens as Bathsheba, and often attacked Carolyn, the girls' mother. Each chapter deals with one cluster of experiences, or place, or friend and that may skip from the first year, to four years or even later. So often such books concentrate on the phenomena, not what it meant to the people to whom it happened.

If people having interacted with spirits for as long as we have written history doesn't count as evidence, I think the scoffers are not being honest with themselves.
