I have read Dr Mindy's book the menopause reset, which helped me through my crushing symptoms of Perimenopause, that I didn't understand and not getting much help from my GP, with bloods coming back fine and an offer to medicate or going the natural way. There is a 30 reset plan and in appendix C, these 30 days are adjusted to help specific conditions ie infertility, thyroid, autoimmune conditions etc.

And I started to see that there was a very clear way that women needed to fast and that it needed to be different than men. Famine (>8 hours without food) switches our energy into ketogenic, fat-burning cycle which gives us clarity of mind, calm and energy that were important to hunt the next meal. A cycle is measured between menstrual periods; it starts on day one of bleeding and ends when the next period begins. It teaches you the benefits of fasting in general, different types of fasting by duration and their individual benefits (Intermittent fasting: 12-16 hours, Gut reset: 24+ hours, Fat burner: 36+ hours), what foods to break the fast with and, of course, fasting for women and how to optimize different fasts with different hormonal stages they go through every month. Sure, it might be worth reading, and I know women have more to think about when it comes to fasting than men do. I have been familiar with Dr Mindy Pelz work for a few years now, after stumbling across her interview with Dave Asprey - I have never looked back.So the first section I make, I might be the most proud, because the editor that I worked with on this book, her name is Kathy Hawk, and I am so grateful to her, because she was an editor slash writing coach, and really pushed me hard on that first section to nail that first section, which is the science of fasting. Have you listened to the Dr Rangan Chattergee 'Feel Better, Live More' podcast with special guest Dr Mindy Pelz? Seemed like quite a bit of repetition and links to various chapters though, and I have no need of the recipe section. As a women's health and hormone doctor, I can't recommend this book and her step-by-step process enough! Inspired by the thousands of women she has worked with who have reclaimed their health with fasting, Dr.

This is the only time in the cycle when all three hormones are present, making it a great time to start new projects, you'll feel motivated and super productive! Not to mention 1/3 of the book is pointless recipes (why ruin a perfectly good avocado by scooping out the entrails, wrapping it in bacon and frying it? I’ve been recommending it to everyone and it’s a great resource for anyone interested in fasting as a tool for health.
