Taking a closer look at the components here, you have different colored everything for each player that translates to plastic cubes, discs and ships. Instead, your civilisation generates materials, science and money at the end as dictated by the value you’ve uncovered on each resource track. I also have Twilight Imperium which is the most compared with this one and I vastly prefer Eclipse over that. Each one already has a unique setup to it but you can fully customize these babies to your heart’s desire.

Nevertheless, tension and discord are growing among the seven major species and in the Council itself. Each action uses resources (money, materials or science), and resource management is a key part of gameplay. Upgrading, building, and moving are the three actions directly tied to combat in the game, allowing you to swap out modules on your four ship blueprints, pump out new ships in your sectors, or move ships into adjacent sectors to conquer new lands. Yes it can be done, but it can be a little sore on the eyes of things don’t initially seem symmetrical during the initial game layout.

This doesn’t have a significant effect on gameplay but does make travel through the centre of the Galaxy a lot more hazardous than previously! It would’ve been easy enough to put the same four models in each box and slap a different coat of paint on them, but the ships are all custom-tailored to match each civilization’s theme and species fantasy. With each action you take, you spend an influence token, and the more tokens you spend the more it costs to complete all these actions.

I do not feel that it is redundant at all having yet another space themed 4x in my collection, was is something that I did initially feel a bit worried about. Join the community and come discuss games like Codenames, Wingspan, Brass, and all your other favorite games! Fine-tuned gameplay incorporating material from former expansions to create the best possible updated version of the game.I never felt like I was bored and the downtime isn’t that bad since each player only has a single action to take.
