Use some frozen bottles of water to lower the temperature inside the cool box before your trip and before you put your freezer blocks and food in. The only downside we found with it was the fact that the lid just wanted to close itself, which meant loading and unloading it a bit of a pain.
OK, so there are plenty of dry/tinned/jarred alternatives such as pasta, noodles, hotdogs, beans, sauces etc. You probably already know that cool boxes won’t cool your food, they are designed to slow down the warming up of it’s content to the ambient/outside temperature. You could even use it to wheel around a supermarket for your frozen items and it's smart enough to appear like wheeled luggage if you want to keep things cold in a Premier Inn or hotel room with no fridge. Storing them out of direct sunlight, in the shade or throwing a towel over them, meant they kept their contents cold for many many days. The handle works well to guide it around with very little effort and the wheels will cope with the sort of thing you will need such as camp grounds, the beach etc. They have found that putting feet on the base of their coolers increases airflow around the base which acts as additional insulation, reducing heat loss from the base.
