I think that in spite of everything I prefer the old one with the number 3 because it feels more acuatic, fresh and a bit vegetal and it doesn't clash so much in a man, although this has never really bothered me because I don't see genres in fragrances. However, that alcoholic-brunchy-cocktail scent comes out too strongly after a few hours and makes me smell like I've gotten messy drunk and spilled on myself. The jolly rancher note is tangy and makes my mouth water, but since it's immediately followed by the smell of sweat.
I probably wouldn't hate it much, if it wasn't for the watermelon note, but that really is up to your taste, I hate watermelon scents in general. This wasn’t for me but it did layer well with other scents if you wanted to build a personalised scent this would work . It's not atrocious, but I don't get any of the watermelon notes others have mentioned and generally feel this presents as quite an immature scent. You may want to try Valentino's Donna Rome perfume - that is more of a buffed down version with a very similar chord.
A sheer, pink, fruity fragrance that has the duality of wateriness and ozonic air, probably an illusion made from the sparkling pink pepper and jasmine which tends to add a clean air accord when it’s not indolic. If you need lotions, I've found Tree Hut Watermelon body butter and Hempz Coconut Watermelon lotion do a great job extending longevity and adding a touch of gourmand sweetness. I picture this scent to be a summer/spring day and afternoon scent yk prolly moving around the city hanging out w friends or just being like frank ocean going around anonymous in the city and the paparazzis taking pictures from a mile away. The kiwi and rhubarb hits your nose right away upon spraying and for some reason, the fruitiness reminds me more of guavas, mixed fruit juice and/or sparkling juice.
If this were a painting, this would be an impressionistic take on a photo-realistic bowl of fruit - (the fruit smell is THAT crisp and delicious). A mouth-watering concoction of fresh watermelon and juicy kiwi is offset by the drama of pink cyclamen for an exhilarating fragrance feeling. I watched several youtube fragrance videos where people would just LIGHT UP when they were reviewing this one.The flacon has a refined, rectilinear silhouette, topped with a minimalist black cap and grounded by a linear yet important glass base. Nobody I've asked has been able to detect this particular odor in the perfume except for me, but I dislike it so much, I stopped wearing it for a while. I love this to wear as an everyday "spritz and go" type scent, its a happy scent that makes me feel clean and a little bit uplifted, I wouldn't say its something I'd wear to something like a meeting etc but it could be a nice one to wear to work during the stifling heat. This fragrance undoubtedly enjoys popular taste even not only of females, I know many men who enjoy its smell, the current L'Imperatrice removes number 3 from the label but it maintains its elegant, monolithic and translucent bottle crowned with a heavy black cap, this new version feels more linear although the previous one and this one smell almost 80% identical, the watermelon is still its absolute protagonist sweet, red, juicy here it is accompanied by a sparkling strawberry and red berries that, together with that acidic and fruity juice provided by the rhubarb and kiwi, maintain that same ripe guava vibe.We have created PDF files with a of list all the scents for our Pure, Royal and Unisex range to better assist you in locating your favourite fragrances. When I first bought this fragrance in 2009, the SA told me it was unisex, so I wore it all the time even if for a guy it smelled too girly.
