When we say, “a higher level,” we mean you simply won’t find better with this many features and this much value. I’ll give you the AmpliTube 4 example so you have a rough idea of how to find the right settings in whatever application you might be using.

Windows 10 should handle the HD 2 in a similar fashion, and I do know that the Amplitube 5 SE software works great on both Mac and PC platforms. With iRig 2, you get an input gain dial that gives you the power to ensure high-quality sound in every situation.

If you have a Mac, you could plug directly into the iRig (either HD or whatever) and then use Garageband for your amp modeling. As I mentioned in earlier paragraphs, the best "feature" that the iRig HD 2 provides is the convenience and ease-of-use that you get from being able to play guitar through your computer or mobile device. Opening the iRig HD 2’s box reveals another box inside of it, with a cutout insert containing two booklets and a single piece of paper.Plus as an added performance feature, iRig HD 2 has an integrated microphone stand “clip” and Velcro strap so you can secure it to a mic stand on stage for live performance. I'm reviewing the iRig HD 2 because I believe, up front, that it's useful, valuable and relevant to today's guitar player. The bundle also includes AmpliTube for iOS so you can use the application with your smartphone and iPad. With the toggle switch set to ‘THRU’ the output monitors the original, unprocessed signal at source, and when set to the ‘FX’ position will output the effected signal from IK’s own AmpliTube and the like. We scrolled through the presets to familiarize ourselves with what’s available, and were pretty impressed by many of them.
