About this deal

LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure and the brick and knob configurations are trademarks and/or copyrights of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site. This is directly controlled - the knob on the back and one on the right side each drive a segment of the arm.

I took a look at the online instructions and it looks like the treads just slide along the beams for support -other than the 16T gear at each end there aren’t any rollers supporting the weight. Brickset, the Brickset logo and all content not covered by The LEGO Group's copyright is, unless otherwise stated, ©1997-2024 Brickset ltd.The phrase "so I haven't been able to build it yet" has cropped up more and more recently, unfortunately. BrickEconomy, the BrickEconomy logo and all content not covered by The LEGO Group's copyright is, unless otherwise stated, ©2024 BrickEconomy. However, thinking that this would primarily be aimed at the younger demographic I think it would have been better for them (and not only) to make it minifig scale since it's already close to it. Admittedly while yes having matched colours would look nicer trying to distinguish between two nigh identical black pins to see which one has which friction to use in a certain place would be a nightmare (or whether its a pin or axel on the other side from the one point of view in the instructions) so the colour identifiers massively speeds up and assists building.

This cool excavator toy for kids is ideal for boys and girls aged 8 and up who love construction vehicles. The blue pin complaints do make more sense when applied to technic sets with a heavier aesthetic focus. After they have mastered the captivating construction challenge, they explore the realistic features of the excavator. Put it this way: people are complaining about the windscreen for much the same reason people are complaining about the blue pins.Whether it's a birthday, Christmas, or ‘just because' gift, young construction fans will love building and exploring this 2-in-1 LEGO® Technic™ Heavy-Duty Excavator (42121) toy set. having limited experience with this theme the "knee jerk" reaction is to look a the colors and simply go ("YUK" you should change the color) I can certainly imagine the frustration at having to explain this every time. The functions appear to be quite standard - rotation, rolling, and control of the arm in 2 locations. Though again, I may sound like a hypocrite saying I'll get this set anyway in spite of that, but that's because I don't let a single glaring issue turn me away from a set entirely.
