I can't evaluate this book like I would another short story collection, because it has a specific purpose and limitations that keep it from being a pure piece of creative writing. It is really helpful to reinforce the vocabulary I have learned and see all the verb tenses changes. But there are aspects about this book that don’t make it suitable for a beginner as it throws in present tense, past and future tenses whilst using conjugated verbs all without explanation.A great book to help you improve your Spanish - level is high beginner to intermediate - so not for those just starting to learn. But that gripe apart these are good stories for a student to work on as long as you understand that as a beginner you have no chanceof understanding these stories at an initial hearing. The stories are fun - the précis at the end of each chapter and the comprehension questions also useful.

I was looking for a more casual reading experience that didn't necessarily feel like I was supposed to be learning as I read.In a book aimed at language learners, even if it’s common in Spanish texting and informal communication to omit either question marks or exclamation marks, shouldn’t they be included in a book?
