About this deal

Throttle back and it will slow down without any nasty vices which makes it easy to fly and not a problem to land.

Couldn’t figure out what the chart was meant to be until I found the exact same D diagram in Transmission tower development in the UK captioned “L2 D tower”.The competition was an astonishing success attracting media coverage from around the globe and 250 entries worldwide, with many prestigious architects and engineers submitting their designs. L3/L3c implies both, so I must be careful to indicate that I don’t know which flavour it is, and XOR is outside of the scope of English! The L55 D2 plans show only half of each crossarm and this may indicate that L55 D2 has the rotational symmetry. I’m not looking to race competitively, but looking for speeds around 160mph and something that turns heads, so to speak.

RIBA, the department of Energy and Climate Change, and the National Grid launched the Pylon Design Competition in May 2011, seeking to find the next generation of electricity pylon for the UK. I came across a PL1 transposition tower purely by chance a few years ago near Warrington on one of the lines near there. There are currently more than 88,000 pylons in the UK, including 22,000 on the National Grid’s main transmission network in England and Wales. Gluing in the tailplane, the control horns, the firewall (supplied) and installing the RC is the only construction work required. The decision to work from source data is one reason that inherently limits the tower type coverage that I will be able to achieve.

The PDF I have is internally timestamped 2008, so I figured that this was the only circulating copy.I am changing the way the wing is mounted with two cap screws a couple of inches back from the LE and another two at the rear. Its ingenious structure also means that it will be much shorter and smaller than existing pylons and therefore less intrusive. I make a specific caveat that all my photos are purely speculative because I have no documented evidence that any particular tower is what I assess it to be (it could be any of the undocumented intermediate variations) — it just helps give readers a better idea than the diagrams alone.

I used to own an F5D Viper - it was a great model in the air but built and designed as a competition model it was fragile on landing - especially at the high speed that it always flew at even on the glide. Graph cut optimization is one of the standard workhorses of image segmentation since for binary random field representations of the image, it gives globally optimal results and there are efficient polynomial time implementations. Not sure how far I’ll get, and I don’t plan to cover all the oddities, only those types that can be accurately converted into SVG diagrams. The server failure that wiped most of the images out of this topic has destroyed a lot of data that I could have used, but there are still some bits left, like the incomplete portions of the L34 plans.JL Eve (L16 and/or L55) D90, the one I went after — saw it from a train window coming back from last weekend’s hunt; L6 quad lines in the background. There is the line that runs from Creyke Beck to Saltend and then are two other examples between Dounreay - Thurso South and Spittal. If you race them, then you have to use an APC 8x8 prop, but if you just want to fly them for fun, like myself, I would recommend using a 9x 6 prop which is nearly as quick in a straight line but makes hand launching much easier - I just get airborne with an underarm lob. e. a new(er) 275 kV type based on L12, possibly as there was insufficient justification for larger, heavier 400 kV towers.
