Sherwood HSS Taps are the general purpose option for thread cutting in most materials including steel, some stainless steels, cast irons and non-ferrous materials such as Aluminium, Brass and many others. We started exhibiting at model engineering exhibitions in 1994 and realised from the shows that people wanted quite specialised tooling for their machines and also a wide range of tooling which they could adapt to suit their needs. The taps create a coarse thread for greater resistance to stripping, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting thread. Tap and dies can also be used to clean existing threads, freeing the grooves from build-up or dirt and debris.HSS Machine Tap is a specialized tool meticulously crafted for creating metric coarse threads in metal materials. The TRE31 series is for machining metric fine threads and has a spiral flute geometry for blind hole tapping. HSS M2 High quality General Purpose Taps, Ground Thread, available in sets of three and also individual taps. it can be used with manual equipment or special processing consoles, such as tapping machines, drill-in-one bench drills, CNC lathes, machining centers, etc. Round dies are suitable for general purpose threading, widely used in thread repair or cleaning the external thread.

These Spiral Point/Gun Nose thread taps are designed for redirecting chips out of the hole whilst threading for a clean and precise result.The taps come in a case made of impact-resistant PP (polypropylene), ensuring that the taps stay safe if the case is damaged or dropped. These come with a vap surface treatment making them suitable for use on Stainless Steel (also good for Steel). These Spiral Point Taps are suitable for cutting 25mm /1” thick material due to the safety recess at the end of the thread. Application: Process steel, iron, aluminum, copper and other metals, widely used in thread repair and other processing. Spiral point taps are engineered for efficient chip removal, while the flute design aids in smooth and precise threading operations.
