It all started when Kagiura moved into the school dorms with what seemed to be a bad boy upperclassman.

After thinking it over, Hirano asks Kagiura if they can move their study sessions to be in the mornings instead of the evenings, because Kagiura has a difficult time fighting off drowsiness due to their late study sessions. The incident with Kuresawa behind the school occurs, and Kagiura manages to soothe Hirano, who was upset at the whole ordeal. And with that said, I need to say that this is so relatable, the relationship of dependancy that is constructed between them is something that almost every person has felt. as a character (to my memory he only has one cameo), we hear about him through the other characters.

Despite this they get along well, and Kagiura receives (albeit somewhat begrudging) support and advice from Niibashi. But by showing both sides, it’s clear that for Hirano and Kagiura, the care is freely given and accepted with open gratitude.This chapter was interesting to tl bc Kagi’s self-perception about his standing in the club is very different from reality and he often thinks things that completely contradict what the narrative told us. He has in large part been ignoring the fact that Kagiura is in love with him, but not after this chapter. Kagiura reveals his intent on pulling away from Hirano's touch, and after patching Hirano's injury up, he uses his 10 seconds to hug Hirano instead. Due soon (in February 2023) is Hirano and Kagiura the novel (which originally came out a year before the manga in 2018), also licensed by Yen Press for their Yen On list, and there are three more volumes out in Japan of this ongoing manga series (the afterword refers to a hiatus but that was in 2019).

On the day of the festival Kagiura visits Hirano's class with Niibashi, but Niibashi rushes ahead, leaving Kagiura behind. But he’s mature enough to reassure Kagiura that there will be other opportunities in the future and he’ll have to make sure to take care of himself.Kagiura is straightforward and honest to a fault, often causing him to be the butt of gentle teasing and jokes from his seniors. Kagiura is trying to come to terms with his feelings for Hirano in the second volume of Shou Harusono’s spin-off to fan-favourite Sasaki and Miyano. But in spite of Hirano’s scary exterior, he’s looking out for his underclassman, waking him every morning when he has problems getting out of bed, showing him the ropes around school – and Kagiura has developed a genuine affection for him.
