In between I’ve seen him countless times as the gunslinger beside many household names in the music business; where he can play rhythm guitar as well as the best of them; and when necessary step back into the shadows to play ‘invisible lead guitar’ when the Star still can’t play guitar and sing at the same time (guesses on a postcard to the usual address). After an interval of 16 years, here he is again at his sweet and soulful musical best with the kind of record that will surely delight his fans. Andy's straightforward and often powerful lyrics greet the uncertainties and sorrows of life with a missive to get up and “Stand Up” in the light, and above all, to keep faith with oneself.

The whole album has the patina of maturity that you would expect from someone with such a huge wealth of experience as a musician and a gentleman.I was due to be at the studio with another band when Andy was actually recording this fabulous album. There are sort of a lot of soulful and gospel-tinged songs, mind you, there’s a bit of blues, there’s a bit of ska, there’s a bit of country, there’s a bit of everything.
