About this deal

Youngest is now 14 months and when we went camping last bank holiday, we didn't bother with the cots and just put her on a camping mattress - slept fine. Its unique two-pole asymmetric frame makes it very stable, and gives you easy access through the enlarged zip-down front panel. Finally, make sure you bring your child’s favourite comfort toys or blankets to create a familiar sleep environment. Once this is done, you then need to need to attach the pole clips to the respective poles, unzip the side entry door, fold the mattress out and place it inside.

During the summer it would make a great shady spot, but unfortunately our tester wasn’t sent the separate sunshade to try this out. The mattress sits on the floor which means the Arc 2 has no weight limit and will therefore last you a long time - until your toddler is too tall to fit in. We don't tend to zip her in unless there's mosquitoes, but ours is a heavy sleeper anyway so the zip doesn't really wake her up.This lightweight travel cot can be put up in moments, with it's colour-coded, shock corded aluminium poles.

This makes it ideal as a temporary playpen for very young and small children wanting a play in safety.Initially, we were a little confused and there were several adults all weighing in on what it should look like and where it should all go. For a solid night’s sleep, the fully washable comfortable foam mattress is topped with a cotton cover and the ventilating and breathable mesh top and sides also keep out insects. The cot comes with a removable and washable foam mattress, which is fitted in the tent with three heavy duty Velcro strips. In general, the main issue that we encounter when travelling is that family rooms provide single beds as additional beds.

No, the Arc 2’s floorprint is 85cmx133cm although if you were pegging it down you’d need slightly more space with the tether straps. When my older daughters were using it, we would open the side zip for them so that they could easily get in and out should they need to get up and use the bathroom. one of the pole tabs broke after X years (we bought it second hand on here) but easy to sew back on. While it looks like it could be pitched outside of your own tent if camping overnight, this isn’t something that we'd recommend doing. All in all, this product offers good value for money, easy construction and avoids the real notion of having to feel like you are taking an enormous travel cot that weighs a lot with you on holiday.

Our tester tried the cot at home both indoors and in the garden and felt that it was more suited to outdoor life, which could put some parents off. Used both indoors, in the garden and in a tent with varying degrees of success, depending on mood of little one. Someone might have one to offload to you for free because those things are everywhere and I reckon most parents use one at some stage. If it was shaped like most cots on the market then, admittedly, it wouldn’t be as easy to pack down and carry around. Yes, there are four tether straps on the corners of the cot, which I used around the legs of a bed to keep the cot secure.

It provides a lovely, calming environment and Ruth said it felt a bit like her son was sleeping in a bubble. It might also help to use your baby’s familiar cot sheets instead of the new one provided (which is green and might feel strange or distracting). There is a possibility that a child could put a ground peg into their mouth, but only if they were left lying around. There is one opening on the front and one at the top, both of which can be zipped up with a breathable, anti-mosquito mesh cover.
