With the Mowalola dolls, I recommend only washing the loose hair and not the styled pieces at the top. That's why I’m so excited to work with MGA and the Bratz team in designing and offering these dolls. There's not enough rigidity in Felicia's legs for her to balance on one foot, so she can only strike poses that involve both feet touching the stand in some way.
The jacket and the skirt are both made out of shiny red imitation leather, and each has a black Mowalola "M" on it. I don't have much of a track record for reviewing Bratz dolls (I've only written two reviews and hosted one guest overview), but because history gave me a chance to remedy this shortcoming, I decided to jump into the Bratz world with both feet this year.The limited-edition dolls aim to represent the youthful spirit of both brands, and fall in line with Bratz' foray into the world of fashion. While I’d still love for MGA to consider introducing new body types to the Bratz brand, this one serves its purpose for the collection. Bratz has done several artist collaborations in the past year, including small collections with designer brands like GCDS, JimmyPaul, Cult Gaia, and Mowalola. One thing that kept popping into my mind is how surprised I was to see Bratz dolls on the shelves back in 2021 when I first re-started the blog. Unlike the typical trapezoid shape that most Bratz dolls employ, the Mowalola dolls have an asymmetrical box in which one half of the trapezoid is shorter than the other, with the other half being taller; the character names printed on the plastic shell of each box start off large on the shorter end, then progressively get smaller as they continue up to the packaging’s tip.
While the previous designer collabs have been nice, I feel that Mowalola tops most of its predecessors because of its willingness to take the brand in an edgy and daring direction. A year ago, many were disappointed by quality control and distribution issues with nearly every Bratz release.
The shoes are so big and solid that they actually allow Felicia to balance on her own with no trouble whatsoever! If they're able to give us this type of greatness, then I can't wait for what they'll release in 2023. Jade also has two different colored eyes, one being a greyish blue and the other being red, and heart-shaped shine dots. Bratz characters Jade and Felicia have received a head-to-toe makeover by Mowalola, complete with ultra-detailed, head-turning looks and the signature Bratz twist. I've owned Bratz dolls with better leg articulation than Felicia's, though, and wish MGA had opted for rotating hinge knee joints. Between 2015 and 2016 (except for the V Files x Bratz doll), and for the Bratz 20 Yearz Special Edition dolls released last year, the “sticker” method was used to apply the dolls’ faces. A new method was introduced to the Bratz brand with the Rock Angelz reproductions last year, which is UV printing.The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Holiday Felicia, the GCDS dolls, Sweet Heart Meygan, and the JimmyPaul dolls also use the UV printing method. While the Cult Gaia dolls came out back in October (review coming soon), the recently released Mowalola dolls have had Bratz fans brimming with excitement as the UK-based designer brings an edgy flair to two fan favorites characters: Jade and Felicia! Mowalola has also stated that this collection takes inspiration from Bratz lines like Pretty ‘N’ Punk, Live In Concert, Treasures, and Tokyo A Go-Go, so it only makes sense! Despite that, they're very unique and beautiful dolls and I hope MGA will continue to make new adult collector Bratz dolls and maybe one day even new playline ones!
