About this deal

You could also substitute a piece of aluminum angle/bar for the wood guide but just make sure you have a blade that is suitable for cutting aluminum that has the same kerf as your wood blade and go slow and use a little wd40 on the cut.

The StealthMounts Trax90 XL with an extended lipped square edge provides instant material alignment for your Makita track saw track. One thing to note is that over that length you need to make sure the rail at the far end is square with the bottom end of the rail as there is some “flop” in the long rail length. After being in this trade for more than 30 years, no other company has been so prompt and accommodating as Frank.Read more about the condition New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). Then just square up the short ends, I use my hkc55 for this if they are small enough or just old school with a normal engineers square against the back of the rail. I’ve never had an issue cutting sheet goods this way but very accurate and true “parallel“ cuts may well be better done with a parallel guide made for the purpose.

Toolcool focus on these two issues, meet special needs through unique design; streamline the tool arsenal by extending the functions of existing tools. The Bosch portable table saw I have is good for some things, but breaking down sheet goods is not one of them, and accuracy… well it’s not exactly always to the level I need it to be.

Great for quickly doing single rail cuts but for any length needing absolute precision I’m not sure it’s the tool. Now Festool does not exactly condone the use of non-Festool accessories, but really it’s not like these devices modify a tool per se.

Just ask the Kapex owners whose motors burned or turntable bed not being flat, or a DF user whose calibration efforts turned out to be as frustrating as using a misaligned joiner itself. I dont think that I would use them enough to justify the expense and I may try to make a set of guides. The Festool TS-55 on the other hand does an optimal job in any situation, from cutting 4×8 panels of Baltic birch to the finest of cabinetry cutting. We provide an optional support tab which will let the guide rail square and guide rail sit flush onto the workpiece. I’ve been reading these threads for a while and have bought multiple Festool products because of it.I've recently purchased the cordless Makita track saw and I'm really liking it (thanks to a discussion on this forum)! Well engineered and thought out, fast and easy to set up, never had an out of square cut yet, speeds up production time immensely. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Now place the track up against the body of the square witch should be 90 to the reference edge and make a test cut. The ends of the guide rail are most susceptible to damage and the square depends on butting against good straight undamaged rail.

There is also a smaller sized SteathMounts Trax90 available featuring a low-profile square angle, ideal for shorter tracks.

Note, if you are doing a *lot* of these cuts, like on a job site, a better alternative might be the Festool HK 55 EQ-F-Plus-FSK. Placing guide rail in correct orientation can be tiring and time consuming if you need to make many 90° or 45° cuts. I do have a TSO rail square (they do 2 types, I think) it is handy, but not a guaranteed solution for cutting square without double checking. The Makita guide rail system is primarily used in conjunction with Makita cordless plunge saws and Makita electric plunge saws, although it can also be used with Makita routers by using an additional adaptor plate.
