LEGO Star Wars 8038 The Battle of Endor

I recommend this set to every army builder, minifigure collector, diorama builder and fans of the rebel alliance. To make it more impressive, the AT-ST is a top-heavy vehicle and that makes balancing even more challenging.

The set that was released in 2007 was perfect, I think, and it would be so much nicer if than one was included instead of this smaller and uglier one.What disappointed me was they did not put C3PO into the set when he should've been in it cause he featured in the battle of endor. It includes a star-studded cast of characters including Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca who have to try and destroy the imperial bunker with the help of Ewoks Wicket, Chief Chirpa, and Paploo.

I'm impressed by the AT-ST, which looks much better than the 2007 version, because of the way it's built. All the 3 Ewoks shared the same head piece mould, differentiated by only the color combination of their body and scarf. Flimsy because its wings have this tendency to flip backwards and fragile because almost every time I play with it, something will come off. Interesting and fun bits are the new minifig torsos, the new Ewok head, the dark green plates, the rebel commando helmets, and of course the clear things. Great review really and I love this set, one can never have too many Scoutroopers (I have 3 + Kashyyyk trooper).My only problems are with the Speederbikes which were better in the 7676 Gunship and with the AT-ST legs. Inside, there's a seat for one, and a handle so that one may pose minifigs with their heads sticking out of the hatch. This brings me to my major problem with this set; the Imperials are outnumbered three to one, whereas in the film they had a vast advantage over the small band of Rebels. On a good note, the spring elements that came with the set offered some element of surprise during the construction process.

Before I get too complimentary with my remarks on Ewoks' armory, the glider kind of brought me back to earth. Also the bunker could have been better with a normal brick wall and a sticker of the death star or Han in AT-ST driver . The AT-ST parts; not many interesting bits here except for the plates without studs on the outer edges. It is an accurate representation of an iconic and satisfying scene from the ending of the real Star Wars saga. Surprisingly, he is not accessorized with any hand held weapons so Han and gang will certainly have an advantage over him. There are quite a fair bit of details printed on both sides of her torso, including a utility belt, scarf around her neck and camouflaged designs to blend into the environment. To simulate the exploding end of the bunker, a pair of push buttons are installed on the roof of the entrance.It seems I really need this set now: Rebel soldiers (everyone needs target practice), Scouts and a walking AT-ST. As one may see, each Ewok's hood has a different something printed on it: Wicket's (orange) has some sort of string, Paploo's (tan) has some leaves and a string, and Chief Chirpa's (gray) has a tooth and a drawstring.
