This is handy when you need desktop mode on the Deck and, if attached to a larger monitor, makes using the Steam Deck a much more pleasurable experience. Every time this happened, the Steam Deck screen was set as my Primary display, and the second monitor was an extension of my Steam Deck screen. Still, I expect these will loosen up over time, and everything else has worked flawlessly - it was easy to switch to desktop mode and set up higher output resolutions and refresh rates, the Deck is held in place steadily and the whole setup looks very slick. Flash it up with some RGB or put more ports on the back like a Display Port or something, but even then it won’t make much difference. However, when I hopped over to a game of Hollow Knight using the same settings; 720p, 120Hz refresh rate, my monitor as an extension of the Steam Deck screen, I was hitting over 200FPS. This I don’t think is such a bad thing in my opinion, as I wouldn’t recommend competitive gaming on a Steam Deck anyway to warrant the extra refresh rates, but I also don’t think being able to hit above 60FPS, or 72FPS in my case on single player focussed titles, like your typical RPGs, is really necessary. Heat Dissipation: With vents on the top of the stand and design of the stand does not cover the back of the steam deck and facilitates heat dissipation. The Ivoler Steam Deck Dock is a cheap alternative to what I’m expecting the official Steam Deck Dock to be.
Does its NXTPAPER technology make it an adequate blend of Android tablet and e-reader for enhanced productivity? Moreover, the iVoler screen protector features a 7-inch size to perfectly compliment the Steam Deck's screen. The HDMI output is capable of 4K at 60Hz, but I’d be surprised if you were really wanting that kind of performance out of the Deck. One such brand is Ivoler, a smaller company looking to mimic the form and functionality of the Nintendo Switch Dock with its own Ivoler 5-in-1 Steam Deck Dock.But, it was nice to see that those weaker graphical reaction-based games like Cuphead and Holow Knight were able to hit higher FPS rates, even though you are sacrificing resolution and I’m including CS:GO in this too. This makes it a very affordable alterative to many other docks, including standard USB-C hubs that you could use instead. So iVoler reached out to send me their first generation dock a few months back, and it was pretty decent - its plastic build fit the deck like a glove, the three USB ports were super handy and the included USB-C cable for charging was perfectly sized.
