About this deal

Noodle, riding on his back the whole way, guessed it was more likely the six tons of polluted shrimp he'd swallowed en route. Even though it tells the tale of the beginning and rise, fall, and second skyrocketing rise of the band, it is written in a way meant to be read by die hards.

Inspired by the great British tradition of the hardback annual, the Gorillaz Almanac is a full colour, one-of-a-kind, fun-packed, 200 page, sideways homage to two glorious decades of Gorillaz. It reads like the script of an episode of Behind the Music, with just the right amount of inserting the two genuine minds behind Gorillaz, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, into the wild world that Gorillaz exists in. It's so incredibly niche - if you don't come into it with a bit of basic knowledge about Gorillaz it reads as the most unhinged story ever - but for someone who loves the band as much as I do it's just so much fun. Celebrating 20 years of Gorillaz, this latest Z2 partnership sees Hewlett expand the band’s collaborative vision to fellow visual artists in The Gorillaz Art Book, a stunning visual feast of 288 pages. Small lower rear corner tear to jacket with small nick also to top front corner of DJ spine, light rubbing to DJ and usage only, internally VG+ and unmarked.Russel became the country's biggest attraction, and 'I survived Pulgasari' t-shirts became the nation's fastest selling fashion item. The Gorillaz have been a favourite band of mine for a very long time and when I found this book, I was in heaven. She was a natural (having shared a tour bus with Murdoc, she was really good at holding her breath). Russel Hobbs had always put on weight easily, so when he grew sixty times in size swimming to Plastic Beach, he thought it might be his thyroid.

These books were later featured on the Humanz Artbook, included on the vinyl releases of the deluxe and super deluxe editions of the band's fifth studio album Humanz. Unfortunately, my phone screen is much too small to be able to read the damn thing without zooming in and out an infinite number of times. Featuring brand new art from and designed by Jamie Hewlett, this is the full story of Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel Hobbs for the first time. I love the way Browne wrote it with the interview excerpts in script form; it really worked to let the characters speak for themselves, and came out with the best character writing they've had, in my opinion. The art style was the same as the art from the Gorrilaz music videos and the visuals as well as language work very good together. The book also has interviews with the original creators, Albarn and Hewlett and the animators, producers, technicians and contributors. Featuring brand-new artwork by Jamie Hewlett, who has invited more than 40 creators to offer new interpretations of 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs in one expansive volume of original artwork. Murdoc Niccals, 2D, Russel Hobbs, and Noodle are all members of one of the most mysterious bands in the 21st century: Gorillaz. Most singers and bands nowadays always seem to focus on appearances rather than putting out good music.

But one day, deep beneath the waves, Noodle prized open a pearl shell of unearthly size, accidentally releasing an ancient hell demon. For years, Noodle pursued Maazu across Japan, from the heights of Mt Fuji to the deepest, darkest forests.Like an unloved goldfish, the music industry was in dire need of Murdoc's legendary song-writing prowess. The only thing I could have done less with is the constant Cockney take on everything- for us Yanks, somewhat hard to fathom occasionally. Over time, Gorillaz has had some former members including Del The Ghost Rapper (vocals performed by Del Tha Funkee Homosapien) who was sent to the afterlife following their first album. Narrated in the way of a biography-slash-interview, at times way too heavy-handedly to be effective, it works all the same and probably precisely because of it, because it's in tune with the characters themselves. Wounded and delirious, Russel struggled on through the ocean, feebly humming the power ballad All By Myself until he lost consciousness.
