About this deal

Because more times than not, people really didn’t want the answers they sought, and the truth of what was to come was often far more destructive than a lie. Even though this was something completely brand new, having that familiarity of her words treacle in is always like the warmest hug from a friend you haven’t seen for the longest time. Simply put Lis is a bland, watered down version of Poppy (surprise), the plot is recycled and stale (there’s only so many times you can do the same thing, okay), and finally the romance is sub-zero. The political system and fantasy aspect of the story wasn’t super intriguing imo and I found myself more interested in the romance. Compared to her other books this is on the higher end of the spice-o-meter for sure, still in true Jen style we get that delightful simmering slow burn and tension but ya’ll once the spice hit, it was indeed spicing away. GENERAL IMPRESSION: I was thoroughly captivated while reading the first book in this new romantic fantasy series by JLA. Though he had done so rather brutally, so I wasn’t sure that was a good example of a kind and caring Hyhborn. But will it just be another stabby, freckled snowflake *ahem* I mean, Queen, who … who talks … like this … all.

It's very similar to FBAA, which in itself is fine, but I found myself constantly comparing the two, and this one was lacking.

Fall of Ruin and Wrath is a captivating romantic fantasy from a mega bestselling author and global sensation. In this first audiobook in Awakening, a new fantasy series, Calista's power of intuition and foretelling have made her a favorite of the Baron of Archwood. I’m assuming you’re not looking for my opinion,” I said, grinding the pestle into the mound of chamomile. This was probably JLA's most sexiest book to date (compared to the other series I've read) and it was so well done.

The bestselling author of the Blood and Ash series weaves another saga of addictive fantasy romance as a baron, a prince and a girl whose intuition never fails find themselves at the mercy of dark forces massing outside the city gates. Some of them were the lords and the ladies of the Hyhborn echelon, but those weren’t the most powerful of the Deminyens. Their interactions were just TOP NOTCH, leaving me yearning for more and you know you are in trouble when characters get you to smile out loud and kick your feet with giddiness. I also think the next books in the series will be much much better now that the scene and introductions have been done.

Lis feels an unexplainable attraction to him, but she knows that any association with a Hyborn will only lead to trouble for her, especially if he discovers her abilities. I'm reading this for a good time, a distraction; the book equivalent of a shitty tv show you can't look away from and end up thoroughly obsessed with. I don’t want to give anything away so I won’t go any further in my description of them (the book explains it all). That’s not to say that this book (and possibly the series going forward) will be anything like FBAA, but the writing style was still the same, which is great, because I’m very particular about writing styles and hate it when authors do a 180 and total change things up. When the Baron takes an interest in the prince, and the prince takes an interest in Calista, she becomes the latter’s temporary companion. The only other one we ever heard about, and that was usually through the rumor mill, was the Prince of Vytrus, who ruled the Highlands, and that was because he was dreaded by most. Fall of Ruin and Wrath is pure Jennifer L Armentrout magic at its core and one that everyone needs to indulge themselves in. While this book wasn’t for me, I will be checking out the sequel out of curiosity to see what happens next.
