About this deal

It is one of those scent you capture on a woman passing by, a flowery, green whiff of distant, exotic lands which keeps you wonder what, what on earth she's wearing?

I couldn't believe at first that BP is indeed an EL fragrance, it's so very unlike the other EL's in my collection.A fragrance fantasy and an intoxication of the senses Estée Lauder’s Beyond Paradise Eau De Parfum transports you to a perfect world of optimism and wonder.

Not sure I could pull it off in middle age, but it holds fond memories of the most recent turn of the century. Estee Lauder must use the same ingredient in a lot of their perfumes, because when it goes rancid I can smell it in all 3. It's a heavy, very floral scent, reminiscent of holidays a tropical paradise full of jasmines and gardenia and all sorts of wonderful things like that. Maybe the tester at Ulta was funky, maybe the reformulation was bad, but all I got was a blast of hairspray when I tried it on my skin.

I get a soapy-creamy gardenia scent, too, which reminds me of luxe soaps and Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia (a cheapie I love). It was unfortunate that the formula had turned which explains the "decaying of flowers smell" and such, as other reviewers have mentioned. I imagine myself on a tropical island with exotic flowers, a heavenly scent entouring my body and soul. feels like getting off a plane at some Mediterranean resort destination and and catching the first whiff of fresh and humid air infused with blooming exotic flowers.

The hyacinth, bergamot, gardenia, and honeysuckle are most prominent to me, with the musk and amber barreling through the middle notes after an hour or so. Many white flower fragrances smell more like hothouse plants, grown in humid greenhouses and conservatories, warm and somewhat stifling.

No, they needed only to run over to the EL counter and there it would be, an expert-certified masterpiece, right next to the Daywear cream! Sweet, creamy white flowers, crisp, fresh florals, elegant, perfumey florals, and musky, vegetal florals are all available. I recieved this fragrance as a birthday gift for my 14th birthday when it first came out (showing my age! For nostalgia sake, I've tried it from the current boring bottle (discontinuing the rainbow bottle is heart-stabbing). Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.
