About this deal

Normally my group sees this as a good thing, but some of the ways that you can lose are very frustrating. Each room has a dice that ticks towards six if left unwatched, triggering catastrophic explosions and, yep, your smoky end. Dead Men Tell No Tales ended up being a fun cooperative board game that’s already made it to our tabletop a few times. There are a few themes in gaming that no matter how much they are used (or overused), still seem to attract my attention. This game brings back a similar feeling to playing Pandemic, which for myself and my partner, was a thoroughly enjoyable co-operative experience that was for us, the first well done co=operative we mechanic we had seen in a board game.

While Minion Games doesn’t publish a high quantity of titles, the ones they do release are usually well produced. Taking Revenge: At the end of his turn, a player draws a Revenge card which causes some fires to increase in value. They must battle the flames, the skeleton crew, and their own fatigue if they hope to make it out alive. It almost behooves you to keep your fires at different levels to avoid something like that from happening. Join the community and come discuss games like Codenames, Wingspan, Brass, and all your other favorite games! The artwork was not only visually pleasing to look at, but also done in a way where it doesn’t interfere with actually playing the game. Where treasures end up on the board is simply luck of the draw so players will have to focus on exploring the ship no matter how familiar they are with the game. Each player starts their turn by revealing a new room, which must be placed somewhere on the ship where there can be a connecting doorway.

The skeletons and guards were hard to discern from each other (particularly because there's different art for different skeletons).I’ve lost Dead Men Tell No Tales in a couple of different ways, this game can really keep you on your toes, especially at the harder levels. These ideas are evocative and generally come across quite well, with just a bit of abstractness along the way. The absolute randomness of everything in the game (from set up, token draws, tile draws, dice rolls for combat, etc.
