About this deal

The film was directed by Joe Massot, [1] who originally wanted to do a film only about the band Madness, whom he met during their first US tour. The legendary concert film recorded at various venues in 1980 at the height of the 2 Tone movement, plus the unreleased 27 track film soundtrack and original 14 track album. But the first two decades of recorded blues were a veritable goldmine of acoustic guitar brilliance. And finally we get to hear the film’s rollicking renditions of “Swan Lake” and “Madness” in crystal clear audio mixes. This is an excellent 80's British Ska primer as well as one of the most lively and energetic live albums I've ever heard.

Well we all remember it as a lot of fun with a serious message behind it but I have to admit that I was unaware of 'Dance Craze' - a concert film featuring performances from all the greatest 2Tone acts including The Specials, Madness, The Selecter, The Beat and. Outside of rare screenings of well-preserved prints, most fans have seen it only via VHS bootlegs and hideous blurry YouTube uploads with muffled sound.
