Once the draw pile is exhausted and everyone has played or discarded all of their cards, the round is over and you add up all of your assets. But then I heard my wife talking about how much fun the girls in our neighborhood had playing Cover Your Assets at girls camp last summer. After the draw pile is emptied, players continue playing in the same manner just without the ability to replenish their hand.

However when you attempt this your opponent can challenge the set and try to steal it away from you. Every time somebody tries to steal assets, whether they're successful or not, that particular set of assets increases in value, making it a bigger target for all the other players. While kids younger than 8 would be able to make matching pairs of cards in their hand and find matches among other players’ assets, they’re not going to like being stolen from. Either way, I’ve had fun with Cover Your Assets, and if you’re looking for a quick family game, you enjoy acquiring stolen wealth, or you’re just here for some take-that in a fun setting, this one might be for you!

This card game takes minutes to learn, and perfecting your strategy means the fun can last for years. The story line is simple: protect your assets in the form of baseball cards, jewelry, a classic car, and more…or the coveted gold and silver (worth a lot! I think, generally, that’s Grandpa Beck’s wheelhouse, so this is another solid title in that line, I’d argue.The game is primarily designed for four to six players but there are good variations for two or three players.
