About this deal

This is a low-cost grinder, the burrs alone in some commercial grade grinders cost more than this grinder, and some of the grinders at around the one to two thousand pounds mark, or above, will usually, hopefully, produce more consistent particle size. I’m not sure the Sette would give you any performance gains of the smart grinder pro for manual brew methods, for the extra cost. PS I’m using a Dedica with the bottomless portafilter you recommended and am pleased with the results: thank you for that tip. Having worked as a barista for many years I was always a little apprehensive about how accurate a home coffee grinder could actually be.

Get a free bag of our freshly roasted 2022 Great Taste award winning Colombian Jazz coffee beans when you purchase a Sage grinder. The obvious difference between the Sage Barista Pro and the Dose Control is the LCD screen or lack thereof. I'd ruled out blade grinders, my coffee knowledge definitely wasn't what it is now, but I knew enough by that point to know that while blade grinders are better than nothing, it was a burr grinder I needed. As I've mentioned, this is an all rounder, some might say jack of all trades, so it's not a grinder that is focused on one particular brew method. The reason for this is that the environment, whether it's in your kitchen or in your office, isn't the best place for coffee beans – and if the beans are in your hopper, they're in your environment. The intuitive digital display ensures accuracy and control over each grind cycle, along with five preset grind settings and a dedicated espresso button. You have the choice of grinding directly into a paper filter, an airtight container, or a portafilter. They're a zero-emission courier that uses all electric vans and plants a tree for every parcel — plus they have great tracking and control options for your deliveries.

Low-pressure pre-infusion, followed by a high-pressure 9-bar extraction process delivered via our 15-bar Italian pump. Don't do what most people do, which is to open your beans and empty them into the hopper as soon as you get them, and leave them in there until you run out. So you can extract your shot at the right temperature, delivering optimal flavor, while simultaneously steaming your milk to cafe quality. Pre Infusion Function: Gradually increases water pressure to gently expand grinds for an even extraction. The dose seems pretty consistent but my timings went from 30s to 20s for 2oz without changing the settings unexpectedly recently once, wondering if it might have just been a bad 200g bag loaded in though. This particular grinder did have a few minor issues in its earlier designs that Sage have managed to iron out. At present I use what I believe is termed a blade grinder, which is perfectly adequate for my Bialetti, and french press, but realise that I need something a little more refined for my new machine.
